Inspired by the faffing thread.

AIBU?? Unless you have a medical reason obviously.

Today my dh got the toddler ready. It usually takes me 30 mins and in that time I can easily:

Make him breakfast
Make my own breakfast and eat it
Dress him
Empty dishwasher
Pack bag for nursery
Put load in washing machine
Brush his teeth
Put his shoes and coat on

In an hour my dh didn't even manage half of that. He wasn't even faffing. He just does things so slowly. Does my head in.

There's slow and there's arrogant

If you are slow, most people make the effort to be more considerate.
Letting people go infront when they don't have their card ready.

Arrogance is knowing you are slow and not caring. Making people wait because their time is more important

OMG my son-in-law is like this. He doesn't FAFF or fuss, but he is just soooo sloooow. It takes him a full 2 minutes to take his jacket off. Eating anything takes him for ever. Getting in and out of his car is done in slow motion. And it's got to the point where I won't go out to eat with him and my DD any more because I can't bear the age which he takes to decide what to order. If I am going out for a large-ish meal,I won't eat anything for at least 6 hours before otherwise it spoils my appetite,so of course,by the time we go out to eat,I am ravenous. But I feel like I am going to faint with hunger waiting for him to decide. The irony is that as a disabled person with mobility issues,I am slower than most, and generally have more patience with people who are slow for whatever reason. But bloody hell,he drives me mad.

I have found my people Grin.

I once went on holiday with DH's family (in-laws, DH brother and kids,), 11 of us in all.

Every time we had to leave the cottage it took about an hour.

Got to place. Dither. Faff. Change mind. Go somewhere else.

An age to get everyone in and out of cars (that for ultimate faffage/ slowness/ inconvenience had to travel in convoy). I came to the conclusion that half of them were bone idle lazy and epic procrastinators and the other half just no organisational skills and a total disregard for others' inconvenience.

I'm sure they think I'm a humourless PITA who lives by the clock but... well, actually, in other spheres I'm considered a bit disorganised. It was strange to find myself as the most timely, organised one.

That particular horror will never ever be repeated!

My other half is the ultimate faffer. He's from a family of faffers. Drives me absolutely bonkers.

I'll say "right, shall we go".. Yes they say in unison... And they all stay exactly where they are!! Seriously get a sodding move on! I have two DC, I'm constantly doing things. There's always something to be done, so I never waste any time dithering. I leave that up to the males. Fml!!
