Hi I know what I should say, I know what I want to say but it's not always that simple.

After 6 years of not missing a weekend there was nothing I could do but request help from fellow parents asking if someone could give my 16 year old a lift home from football this weekend.. the parent I thought was dropping him home didn't, the parent who did regularly drinks 3 or 4 pints!! Then drives. I'm angry and upset If I told my lad not too get in car he'd tell me I was being stupid. If I tried approaching this man he'd tell me to F off as he can be a real nob. The problem is it's mostly dads who drive and most of them think 3 pints is ok to drive - I don't

What places doesn't have a bus within walking distance? Do you live in this place?

Loads of places! People are saying: oh he can get a bus to the match. Ok, so say that there is a bus route within a few miles, if you're lucky. But it goes one way at 11am and the other way at 7pm. Not much use if your match starts at 10 and ends at 12, is it?
There are places with buses that are only 3 days a week. There are places with literally no buses at all. I'm thinking of one of the places my son plays football matches: he could, I suppose, walk the two miles to the train station, get a train to the town next to the village where the pitch is, wait an hour or two for the village bus, which leaves you another 2 miles away from the pitch. But only if its an afternoon match, because that will take at least 3 hours.

Do people really think that buses and trains go everywhere, all day long?

I made this point several posts back. Why on earth can people not grasp that good public transport is a luxury and most areas have awful public transport?
