To ask you to recommend a cordless vaccum cleaner

So, we bought a cheapie and it's been useless. Do any mumsnetters have a cordless vaccum cleaner they swear by? Happy to spend a lot as long as it works well!

I love my dyson v6 absolute and I'm not a dyson fan at all.

Conflicting view for Dyson V6 Animal.

Mine is shit. Blocks over nothing to the point I always have a penny on hand to unscrew the damn thing and root around, have had to send away repair also. May be a rogue ? Will be watching this thread for alternatives.

Mammylamb · 17/01/2017 13:44

Thinking about the dyson too. But I hate spending moneyGrin

But if I buy a cheapie, I will probably end up buying another one a year later, so it's a false economy

Dyson v6 absolute, it's amazing. Brilliant for dog hair, £300 I've ever spent

Floralnomad · 17/01/2017 13:47

I have a Dyson , I think its a V6 animal and it is not impressive at all , I have now got a Bosch Athlet , it's the top of the range one and I love it .

RarelyInfallible · 17/01/2017 14:02

Vax tbttv1b1. Intended to buy the Dyson but this was way cheaper. Fab little thing and now intend to buy another to leave upstairs.

hellsbellsmelons · 17/01/2017 14:11

Agree.. Gtech is crap!
Do NOT get one of these!

RandyMagnum2 · 17/01/2017 14:16

I have a Dyson V6, good enough for what I need, it's light enough and the battery lasts long enough to do a quick buzz around the whole house every couple of days.

FlyingElbows · 17/01/2017 14:18

We've got the van one too and it's great for our all hard floor downstairs. It manages the rug in the living room but it wouldn't outdo a proper vacuum for carpeted rooms. It's great and so much easier than lugging the bloody corded Dyson about. I highly recommend everyone to have one particularly people who find housework a bit tough to keep on top of. So much easier than a corded massive heavy lump.

Couldn't love this more. Charges quickly, super light, I hoover about 10 times more than I ever did with the clunky beast we now have gathering dust in a cupboard somewhere! Worth every penny and we use the whole thing and the small handheld bit all the time.

lovemakespeace · 17/01/2017 14:48

I have the v6 animal and I love it so much. Very good suction and I also hoover way way more than I did with Henry. Not sure it lasts its full 20 mins though... but not a massive issue as plenty to do our kitchen extension and stairs which is what I mainly use it for.

lovemakespeace · 17/01/2017 14:50

I was considering the Bosch one too but I read the handheld bit is not so easy to use so I wasn't sure about it for the stairs...

NotTheMrMenAgain · 17/01/2017 17:43

G Tech AirRam and the Multi-tool are fabulous, couldn't fault them at all!

Angelika321 · 17/01/2017 18:03

Dyson V8 absolute, love it! Loads of power and plenty of battery for using as a 2nd hoover for downstairs.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/01/2017 18:09

Dyson v6 animal. Brilliant. Even though the motor in the brush head has broken after one year. Dyson sending me a new one as still under warranty.

summerholsdreamin · 17/01/2017 18:12

I'm with Back, my Dyson V6 Animal is utter shite and total waste of £300 Angry. Doesn't pick up properly, constantly blocks, brushes don't rotate.

SparklyFuckingBusinessFairy · 17/01/2017 18:13

Oh god, DP is in love with our cordless vac. It also has a small hand held one. It was quite cheap too (compared to the dyson I had before that he hates!). Hang on, I'll see if I can find a link

rollonthesummer · 17/01/2017 18:13

Dyson V6. I bought it last year and think it's brilliant! Even the kids like hoovering with it Grin

SparklyFuckingBusinessFairy · 17/01/2017 18:14

On special offer at the moment too. Must admit, the carpets look much better now.

Pettywoman · 17/01/2017 18:15

Love my dyson v6.

LizzieMacQueen · 17/01/2017 18:18

AEG one is good, has a little light at the front too, a tiny bit fiddly to empty the dust afterwards but it has excellent power.

Ditto ❤ dyson V6. Light and easy to use. Does chase rogue cheerios around though - doesn't quite get them!
