To ask you to recommend a cordless vaccum cleaner

So, we bought a cheapie and it's been useless. Do any mumsnetters have a cordless vaccum cleaner they swear by? Happy to spend a lot as long as it works well!

I have the Dyson V6 HEPA, and love it. Previously, would vacuum weekly, now once a day. And my 6yo loves to use it, too.

This is on my list of things I must buy this year.

Dyson V8 Absolute, lots of improvements on my old V6. Very expensive, but I'm the only one who does any housework round here and it's staying.

The Dyson V6 Animal and it is AMAZING. I am a constant hooverer and I have stopped using my Miele Cat and Dog completely. However, if I had the choice again I'd buy the V8 - which has 40 minutes of charge compared to 20 minutes of charge. I can manage with the 20 minutes but 40 minutes would be better.

Whatever you do don't buy the Vtech AirRam, it is utter shite. I complained as it just didn't pick anything up and they refused to refund, they sent a new one that I flogged on eBay but I still lost money.

That should say 'I have the V6 Animal and it is AMAZING.'

We got a reconditioned v6 absolute from ebay dyson site. Like new. 2 yr guarantee and £100 less than new with more accessories. I love how easy it is to use and it works well on carpets and hard floors. It does block a bit but is easy to unblock, and needs emptying frequently. Apart from that I FUCKING LOVE IT

UptownFlunk · 17/01/2017 23:04

That's handy to know @Belleende, thank you.

Ive got a dyson wand, not sure which one but it's pretty ace. However, I also bought the Morphy Richards one recommended by Sparkly for my ds and his gf and it's really very good except for when they hoovered up a sock and kept trying to use it anyway. That was 1/6 of the price.

Depends a lot on the sort of usage it will have. And the Dyson helpline is amazing.
