That fattist discrimination is allowed in the workplace?

Just read this article and it says it is not illegal to discriminate against overweight people.

Yet fat people are protected only if they can prove they are also disabled

from the article. So it is seems to be ok to discriminate against someone who is fat but not if they are fat and disabled? Hmm

This is worrying though but a separate issue from the same article

I would rather take advice from someone who understands how hard it is to lose weight than someone who has never had any weight issues.

The principles remain the same whether the person has faced weight issues or not

'The NHS' is the biggest employer in the UK, Cara, and very varied!

I agree an overweight dietician isn't ideal, nor a smoking cessation specialist who smokes!

But would you really be bothered if the paediatric doctor treating your unwell newborn was overweight? If the radiologist doing your x -ray was obese? Audiology consultants? Receptionists? A&E nurses? Porters?
