Motherfucking thundersnow.

Now that's some proper weather.

I have never seen thundersnow and until recently I didn't know what it was. Now I want thundersnow more than anything else. None of this pissing about light-dusting of white, I want the serious shit.

Theimpossiblegirl · 11/01/2017 22:21

Thundersnow sounds cool, like Sharknado, which is possibly not a real weather phenomenon.

Slippersandacuppa · 11/01/2017 22:22

Breakfast meet Thundersnow (as of two minutes ago. Previously known as Piglet. Definitely not as cool).

to be hoping for THUNDERSNOW tomorrow
SquinkiesRule · 11/01/2017 22:23

I doubt we'll get any, but Dd is hoping for a snow day from school, we got an email from school to make sure the kids have contact info in case they need to call the buses in to take them home early.
I'm busy tomorrow, need to drive to main hospital for a class for work, I figure they keep the roads to the A&E clear so we should be fine.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 11/01/2017 22:24

I want Thundersnow, but it will probably just be drizzly. Nothing exciting ever happens round these parts.

Weepatchesoflove · 11/01/2017 22:26

I've never seen thunder snow either and I think pink lightning like kitten has seen would be awesome. I. Sorry too for the people that need to go out in that weather though. But pink lightning.....

Marcipex · 11/01/2017 22:26

Yay. It's a three mile walk across open moorland to get to work, but I'm still excited.

roseshippy · 11/01/2017 22:28

What fucks me off is when we get snow at 4pm or something then it's all melted the next morning.

What you want is to wake up and everything's white and school is cancelled.

I washing to say something about snow but got distracted by my excitement that there's someone from Penarth on this thread Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/01/2017 22:29

those in the south could end up with a very unpleasant ice covered friday morning.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/01/2017 22:30

yes boogers, sometimes with suddenly very gusty strong wind.

RustyPaperclip · 11/01/2017 22:30

I LOVE snow. The more the better. Although my manager won't agree if I can't get to work! I can sense it like Lorelai Gilmore, nothing yet for London/ Surrey sadly

LadyTrevelyan · 11/01/2017 22:33

Thundersnow sounds amazing Wine and I hope to see some.

Thundersnow Flowers

AwaywiththePixies27 · 11/01/2017 22:33

I like snow for the first couple of days but I have a very grumpy knee from a bad fall a few years back and once the snow turns to ice I'm terrified of falling over and reinjuring it Sad if it cleared up instantly it'd be fine but the whole streets turn into ice rinks for days.

ItsNachoCheese · 11/01/2017 22:34

Dear thundersnow,
Pretty please can you wait til after ds has been to his appointment in glasgow to appear. Its at 2:30 and takes 40mins each way travel. Once that is done by all means thundersnow to your hearts content Grin
Yours sincerely
ItsNachoCheese

AwaywiththePixies27 · 11/01/2017 22:36

squinkies I'm bot sure where you are. I'm east mids bht there's a general unspoken rule that major bus routes get gritted / cleared so the same should apply presumably if you've got work at a hospital.

We don't live on a bus route and it's absolutely lethal trying to get out in it once it's iced over.

Would be cool to have a proper snow play though for the DCs

PutUpWithRain · 11/01/2017 22:37

Incredibly boring but hopefully helpful info... yaktrax

I'm one of those elegant creatures who can slip over on a wet pavement, so I fucking dread icy/snowy conditions as the daily school run is a five mile walk all round. The only thing that's helped are yaktrax. Seriously. Put them on over some elderly boots and you have grip on pavements again. Without them, I couldn't leave the house.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes. --must learn to proof read-+

nursy1 · 11/01/2017 22:41

Nooooooo.
Flying from Manchester very early on Friday ( though I do love a bit of wild weather).

stumblymonkey · 11/01/2017 22:42

Surrey calling...

We aren't getting any thundersnow

So I think the rest of you should bog off and stop rubbing our noses in it

KevinMcCallister · 11/01/2017 22:42

I have never heard of THUNDERSNOW (has to be capitals). How awesome! In the true sense of the word. m.youtube.com/watch?v=sNGZb5BoW74

zebratrainedteens · 11/01/2017 22:45

I'm praying for thunder snow and thunder hail, I can't help it it's like I'm 8 or something. Pit the word thunder in front and I get excited I already have thunder thighs Grin

PigletJohn · 11/01/2017 22:46

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Snow warning.

FurryLittleTwerp · 11/01/2017 22:50

I love wild weather & would particularly love THUNDERSNOW but, being in the North East, I think we're getting cold & dry weather instead Sad

FurryLittleTwerp · 11/01/2017 22:50

Yellow Snow warning - yuck!
