Why is it when bossy posters start throwing their weight around telling people not to placemark I get the irresistible urge to post again?

I watched the last thread and this one yesterday. I had no need to post except scrolling through a thread to find a post from the OP and finding nothing but placemarking posts is very annoying when there is absolutely no need for it. I'm aware that this is now my second post and I'll leave it there but maybe others could consider using the watch this thread option rather than post blank posts, dot posts or 'placemarking!' posts?

Won't the OP just come on here at 4pm and say 'I'm home now-the car has gone.'

If you are 5 and a half hours ahead, that means you know what happened when OP came back from work! Was the car still there? Were there police sniffer dogs whining and scratching at the boot? Has Nicolarse been taken away in handcuffs with a blanket over his head? Is there lots of yellow "incident tape" across OP's drive?

I have rtft but did anything come of the op reporting the car as abandoned? I know op did that yesterday but did police actually do anything?

Personally I'd have my whole family block it in and probably key it but I'm protective of MY property so...

I don't have a bookmark button, I looked everywhere but it isn't there.

It'd be so cool if, on long threads, there was a post at the start containing ALL posts by the OP. That way I wouldn't have to read posts like this one I am currently typing.

Just glide your cursor arrow over the bottom right hand corner of any post and a "Bookmark" box will magically appear. Click on it. It will tell you it's saving. And then tell you i's saved. When you next click on the thread title, you will be taken to your furthest bookmark, so you can read on.
