Just that really - mine were 4-5 days previously but for last two years are only 2 days then spotting.

I'm early 30s no DC's yet and wondering if I should be concerned?

Very jealous as I'm on the mini pill and have always had periods!

First day light, second day heavier then 2-3 tail off days. I'm coming up 45 and I'm now 23 days between periods instead of 28 Sad

catsmother · 09/01/2017 11:15

I have 2 to 3 days of darker brown discharge/spotting when I know it's coming, 3 very heavy days including clots and flooding, then 3-4 lighter days ... so, up to 10 days which is a bloody (pun intended) pain.

My cycle is 28 to 35 days which also means I'm often on tenterhooks never quite knowing when it's going to start and can make booking weekends away difficult.

At 52 I've not yet missed a period or noticed any alteration to my pattern and quite frankly I'm sick of it all now and just want them to stop.

HandsomeDevil · 09/01/2017 11:17

day one - moderate
day two - heavy
day three - light
day four - nothing
day five - back for the "surprise" encore (light/spotting)

I've never had heavy periods, apart from an awful 6 months of flooding with a copper coil. They are getting more painful as I approach 40 though.

VforVienetta · 09/01/2017 12:33

About 7 days, not including pre-period spotting.
Days 2-3 are heavy flooding, 5-7 light/spotting.

Also, since my periods returned after DC2, my cycle has shortened from approx 32 days to 25. Which sucks.
The periods are the same, just a hell of a lot closer together.

I honestly didn't realise some women had such short periods, two days eh - how lovely!
I loathe mine.

BabychamSocialist · 09/01/2017 15:28

Pre-Menopause it was anywhere between 7 and 10 days. They were always really awful.

BabychamSocialist · 09/01/2017 15:29

And then I had a hysterectomy during my menopause, so I don't get them at all now.

Coffeeisnecessary · 09/01/2017 15:39

I'm mid 30s with 2 young children- mine has dropped to 2 days of basically spotting, I hate it as it feels so abnormal! Went to the doctors and had an ultrasound and blood tests but they couldn't find anything wrong so they said unless I wanted more children (I definitely don't) they wouldn't follow it up anymore. I'm still a bit worried about it but it's comforting to know I'm not the only one!

AmyInTheBoonies · 09/01/2017 15:46

7 long days, with day 1 and day 4 being the worst for some reason. I wish I had shorter periods.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/01/2017 15:49

Mostly 3-4 days now (though I have started taking ibuprofen when I start spotting)

When I was on the implant it once lasted for 23 days (I am no longer on the implant)

SoDownSoGone · 09/01/2017 15:52

Mid 30s two DC. 3 days heavy with clots. 1 day medium and 1-2 days light. I need to change pads during the night. I use super pads with wings for first 3 days then normal with wings for light/medium days

EmmaC78 · 09/01/2017 22:53

Mine are normally 2 or 3 days. One day very heavy then one or two days light. I feel very lucky reading some of these replies. 2 or 3 days is annoying enough.

Fluffyears · 09/01/2017 23:31

Used to have a 6 week cycle and then 11days of bleeding with two days of agonising pain and throwing up. The first 5 days were really heavy. Went on the pill for many years and now in my late 30's have stopped the pill. I now have a 28-35 day cycle, still some bad cramping (nothing like it used to be) the bleeding is heavy on days 1-2 then it tails off over the following two days.

My last one was different, 2 days spotting, 1 day heavy and painful, 1 day spotting, 1 day medium and painful, then spotting for 2 days.

BarbedBloom · 10/01/2017 00:00

Mid thirties and have PCOS. 7 days normally with a lot of flooding. Switched to the mooncup and last two have been 4 days. Not convinced yet that this is due to the mooncup but keeping my fingers crossed they continue this way.

Elfieselfie · 10/01/2017 00:14

Usually 4 days of flooding - massive clots, gushes down legs despite changing super plus tampon every hour. Have to wear pads as well. Have wrecked beds, car etc so have leather sofas. Followed by a couple of days medium flow then a couple of light days. Used to be monthly, now every bastard 3 weeks with a couple of days spotting around ovulation. Seen gynaes on several occasions, no fibroids etc, this is my normal.

I get the full shebang of cramps, sore boobs, acne, pmt and migraines. Am permanently anaemic despite taking iron supplements. I'm pissed off and want a hysterectomy. I'm 40.

Sorry for the rant. I am currently mid period and grumpy.

BlueFolly · 10/01/2017 00:21

Anywhere between 6-9 days depending on if it decides to have a little rest in the middle.

Totally envious of these people with 3 day periods WTF?!!!
