AIBU to be so fed up and confused on pyjama issue

AIBU to be serverly annoyed with all the judgements on pyjama wearers?

Can someone explain to me what the big deal over wearing pyjamas is? I don't understand. I shower daily, I wash my clothes if they are used/unclean. When I get up I get dressed go about my day, come home and shower and put pyjama pants on until I get into bed. I take them off before bed as I only sleep in my underwear. If I don't have anything to do in the day I'll wake up and put the pyjama pants on because they are comfortable and warm. If I then realise I have to go out and make a run to the store I'll just go like this as I usually have my children (4m and 2y) with me and if not I'm trying to do the shop as fast as I can to get back to them as my DH is not the best with small children and often gets flustered. I am not choosing to wear them out of laziness, I choose to wear them out of comfort. They are clean, I am clean. Nothing inappropriate is exposed. So I don't understand how it is hurting anybody. I don't think it's fair to sit and judge people who chose to wear pyjamas and be comfortable and I don't understand why people are so offended by this?
I'm sure there are a few people that do wear them because they are lazy and slobbish but I don't think it's fair to judge all people that wear them this way.

I'm not trying to help her case. And YET AGAIN I will say it. That post was supposed to make a point. I didn't actually mean it. But got lost on the op. So I've lost all respect for her aswell now. So well done Cara!

Cara - To use the word "debated" is hardly relevant when the topic is not exactly weighty...

But I think it is "weighty" as I tried to explain in my longish post last night. Without repeating my argument again, I think that the trend for pyjama-wearing in public is symptomatic of a deeper problem in society."

Fair point.

NoTimetoStopnStare · 09/01/2017 11:04

But are joggers, trackers now allowed in public? I thought it was one of MN's rules that you don't wear anything of this sort anywhere, but the gym Hmm.

FudgeBiscuits · 09/01/2017 11:04

At home it's ok, but going outside in your pj's unless an emergency is just slobbish, lazy and not called for. It just shows that you have very little dignity or self worth.

(I shot to a&e in my pj's late evening when DD cut her head open and was bleeding)

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:05

No that's what I thought.

FudgeBiscuits · 09/01/2017 11:06

Just get decently dressed. It's not a fashion show. Just dressed will do!

Stop being so lazy and get yourself dressed properly.

horatio You couldn't pay me to live in London. hmm"

Really? London is lovely and the leafy parts particularly so. Horatio is just ensuring you do not pigeon-hole her, given that you referred rather unpleasantly, earlier, to her jogging in a sports bra bringing down the tone of your nice, middle class city/town. I wasn't aware a city or town could be classified in that way.
HTH

FudgeBiscuits · 09/01/2017 11:08

Oh if anyone can't find a 'lesser spotted pj wearer'.

Look in the rougher parts of your town/city... you're sure to find a few.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:09

I don't like London. Am I not even allowed that opinion now Cara?

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 11:10

"FizzBombBathTime

If you think I've been out of line then go ahead and report. But I expect nothing will be done. I have done nothing wrong."

Report you? Why would I do that? You have been pretty unpleasant but let the record show that. I certainly cannot be bothered reporting anyone, far less you.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:10

Cara how many times do I have to say it? I made those comments in jest as some people on this thread had said similar things about the op. I was making a point. Are you going to listen to me or just write your own version of events?

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:11

Good for you.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:12

cara I haven't been unpleasant but you certainly have.

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 11:12

How can anyone on earth not like London? It is a glorious city.

BastardGoDarkly · 09/01/2017 11:13

Jesus Christ, are you lot still going? Seriously?

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:13

I don't like it. Are you the only person entitled to an opinion about anything Cara?

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 11:15

"FizzBombBathTime

cara I haven't been unpleasant but you certainly have."

Read back. I think you'll find you have. You have been unpleasant to me, for instance. But carry on if you wish. It is worthy of note if anyone is interested.

1horatio · 09/01/2017 11:15

cara

That is actually exactly what I was doing. On a totally unrelated note, before moving to the UK I never knew London could be this lovely. And I especially like the botanic gardens, they're so pretty. And where we live it's green and safe and the perfect place for a family. I'm still a bit :0 Wink

Especially in the morning. It has honestly given me a very new appreciation of British culture :)! (Not that I had a bad impression of it before, btw).

Maybe I should start a UK appreciation thread? I really never knew how great it is!:)

I'm not sure what fizzy is doing here. Not trying to make the OP's case, not arguing against it... just being nasty? Telling us how middle class she is?Shrug.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:16

This is fucking bizarre.

I'm not even allowed to hate London now.

You lot are odd.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 11:17

cara I have read and you have been nasty. HTH.

SoupDragon · 09/01/2017 11:17

This thread is hilarious.

AQuietMind · 09/01/2017 11:19

This is one of the funniest threads I've read in years. Grin

fwiw if I seen someone I knew in a supermarket wearing pj's I would aisle dodge them at all costs, I would not like to be seen talking to or associating with supermarket pj wearers.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 09/01/2017 11:20

It's supposed to be a free country!

The OP has a perfect right to think that people who object to anyone wearing PJs in public are annoyingly judgemental.

But those people also have a perfect right to think wearing PJs in public is lazy and slovenly. Or 'slatternly' - there's a good old fashioned word!

Nearly as good as 'floozie'. High time floozie made a comeback.

dowhatnow · 09/01/2017 11:20

The op uses the terms pyjama pants, diaper and don't know the one of the common English versions of the word tramp. Either she's not English or she watches a lot of trashy American Tv. I judge that too.

dowhatnow · 09/01/2017 11:21

doesn't
