To go to A&E, don't want to waste anyone's time

Frequent poster, name changed for this.
Need some advice, DH saying A&E but I don't want to be seen as a time waster.

Currently suffering from sever lower abdominal pains, passed out twice from the pain. Have just started bleeding fairly heavily but have already had period this month. Can't think straight because of pain. Just really worried because can't put it down to period pains as that happend last week. Any advise would be great, what
Would you do?

Take care of yourself OP. I'm so sorry this had happened to you but thank goodness you got yourself to A&E. Brew & Cake - I hope you have someone with you looking after you once you get home xxx

If anyone is interested there is a great sepsis app (NHS Scotland) that you can download... it's easy to use & saved my life last year. I def wouldn't have gone to A&E without it & would not have survived what followed.

PunkyBubba · 08/01/2017 20:24

Hi OP, I thought EP as soon as I read your symptoms, but thankfully you were already on the way to A&E. So sorry that you have gone through this. I had the same, trip to A&E after collapsing twice, emergency surgery, lost a lot of blood, and Fallopian tube removed..

There is an old support thread on mumsnet which really helped me when I was recovering.. I hope you have a lot of real life support. Thinking of you.

This makes me mildly angry. Here is a genuine case where A&E was needed yet OP was hesitant to go

Yet you get so many going for stupid reasons that are not an emergency. Some are because they can't get a GP appointment asap but most could wait till they could get one or seen on out of hours clinics

I think doctors need to be firmer on those that go and send home anyone who is not an emergency

I'm trivialising it but I'm sure you all get my gist

TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife · 08/01/2017 21:57

So sorry for your loss, glad you went with your instincts and got to A&E.
What Burnt & Punky said, take to time to rest and grieve (I've had 3) and the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust are great support.
Take care of you.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 08/01/2017 21:59
