To go to A&E, don't want to waste anyone's time

Frequent poster, name changed for this.
Need some advice, DH saying A&E but I don't want to be seen as a time waster.

Currently suffering from sever lower abdominal pains, passed out twice from the pain. Have just started bleeding fairly heavily but have already had period this month. Can't think straight because of pain. Just really worried because can't put it down to period pains as that happend last week. Any advise would be great, what
Would you do?

It's such a terrible thing that the time wasters make genuine people worry about going to A&E for real emergencies. Hope you're ok

Hope you're being seen to and you're ok OP Flowers

Good luck x

haveacupoftea · 07/01/2017 23:26

Unexplained heavy bleeding is an A&E job for sure.

LockedOutOfMN · 07/01/2017 23:27

Haven't read the whole thing, but my old flatmate had the same thing and I took her to A&E one night and she was taken in and kept for 3 days while they checked her heart and other things. They found out the cause (I can't remember what it was now) and helped her so she no longer had the pains or passing out.

Good luck, OP!

Italiangreyhound · 07/01/2017 23:28

I think the genuine time wasters don't think ask the question, am I wasting time. So as soon as people say they are worried about that, I feel pretty sure they are not time wasters!

Namechangingbastard · 07/01/2017 23:29

Good luck op. Hope your wait is short.

Glad that she asked and then went - so frustrating when someone posts with concerning sounding symptoms, gets told to go to a&e and then just keeps saying actually that they won't bother etc

Hope you get seen soon and feel better OP Flowers

NotAnotherUserName1234 · 07/01/2017 23:58

Time-waster - if you have time to post your symptoms and gather the results of a poll on mumsnet then you are neither an accident nor an emergency and you should call 111.

Airandmungbeans · 08/01/2017 00:00

Hope you're ok op x

Hope you're sorted soon xx

lougle · 08/01/2017 00:09

NotAnotherUserName1234 that's a very dangerous thing to post. Over the years on MN we've had:

  • the mother of a child with life-threatening complications of chicken pox 'do a poll ' on whether she should try and wake him
  • a young woman with an ectopic pregnancy having some 'awful period pain' 'post for a whinge'
  • someone in the early stages of sepsis posting for advice because they felt a bit 'out of it'
-several other people in real, proper emergencies, posting for advice.

Being able to type on a phone does not mean you are well. It means you can type on a phone.

UnbornMortificado · 08/01/2017 00:10

Hope your ok op Flowers

I think it's scary people have to double check whether to use A+E with such symptoms.

Presuming different circumstances but I suffered a haemorrhage and fainted after a late miscarriage. The ambulance was there before I even came too.

I'm sure I've read (on here no doubt) blood loss and losing consciousness are classed as urgent.

UnbornMortificado · 08/01/2017 00:12

NotAnother was that sarcasm?
