I know that it's supposed to be musical theatre rather than The Voice / X-Factor, but I don't think that any of the contestants can really sing well. Is it just me?

I used to like The Voice because it had a certain amount of charm and the judges gave feedback even to the people they didn't turn for.

And they tried to make people go away feeling OK about themselves. That's all gone.

I only liked it because they seemed kind and friendly to everyone, no ritual humiliation. Don't think I could sit through another one though

I saw 5 minutes of it - the bit which had me most agog was Barlow saying he was looking for some one who has the charisma to hold an audience (implication -"like me"). No one less charismatic than him has ever worked in showbiz, fgs.

I quite liked it. And the last guy (Jason) was very good but then you would expect him to be as he is a professional. (also - is he really suited to the role since he's a much better singer than any of take that??)

Also don't get - they were rightly so bowled over by Jason but how about Gary just casts his musical using professionals like all the others then they could have a whole cast of Jasons!!

MsJudgemental I didn't watch it, but YABU for this comment: I know that it's supposed to be musical theatre rather than The Voice / X-Factor, but I don't think that any of the contestants can really sing well . To succeed in musical theatre you have to have an excellent voice and technique, both far, far better than most pop singers! The vocal range from show to show is huge and you have to be able to sing different styles.

Liked it. Love musical theatre anyway, but enjoyed this as more supportive than X factor which I hate. I think this show gave more information about the contestants and the judges. Felt relaxed and much less 'rehearsed' or in the case of X factor 'staged'. Enjoyed Martin Kemp giving the game away a couple of times about his scoring and thought the Take That guys were just so lovely with the lads performing. Relaxed and open show at the minute. Not sure if I will get bored over the weeks but will watch again.

A feel good programme for easy viewing!

I haven't seen it, but it's obviously rubbish. Think about it: X Factor, The Voice, Britain's Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing, that Andrew Lloyd Webber thing - they are all shit, and are obviously going to be shit before you watch them. It's TV for idiots, so congratulations for at least recognising this fact.

Is anyone watching tonight, or has everyone given up? Smile
