Customer service, price and ethical considerations being the main concerns.

Funnily enough that rings a bell. Thanks for the tip.

I've heard some awful stories about 'just for tiny people' so I'd steer clear of them.

Toooldtobearsed · 06/01/2017 16:05

I think there is a company called Just for Tiny People.

Is it a tiny teepee you are looking for?

I understand it was on Dragons Den and Deborah Meaden invested, so it absolutely MUST be beyond reproach.

I am sure they employ fairies...... though what fairies are doing in a teepee is anyones guess.

Good luck with your teepee and if you like this sort of thing, why not consider running a business like this yourself?

LeopardPrintSocks1 · 06/01/2017 16:05

Hobbycraft do one for 35 quid

Manumission · 06/01/2017 16:07

I wouldn't know where to start with running a business sadly Sad

I heard that JFTP are selling a network marketing opportunity called 'business in a box'. Does anybody know anything about this? It sounds good, but are there any potential pitfalls?

alltheothernamesareinuse · 06/01/2017 16:09

You could get a pattern and make one yourself. I've heard that Butterick do a good one.

LunaLoveg00d · 06/01/2017 16:09

Great Little Trading Co and Wayfair have them.

Yes op. You can decorate it yourself as it's blank www.hobbycraft.co.uk/kids-teepee-play-tent-140-x-120-cm/608373-1000

Ooh, I really really want a Tentipi but can't afford one, and don't have the drying storage space Sad

I think you have to trust the company you buy from though, and a lack of reviews can be very telling.

why not consider running a business like this yourself?

I always admire people who run their own business, it's such a huge amount of work and stress, I think sometimes as well, especially with direct sales things people don't actually look at the figures ie

How many sales will you need to make to recoup initial investment? - you also obviously need to factor the cost of sales, and any other ongoing costs.

How many sales will you need to make to make x amount of profit?

I think sometimes people just look at the retail cost of what they are selling and forget that they will have to buy that item + all the overheads which may well not leave that much profit.

My wee teepee is nice.

PotatoVegetable · 06/01/2017 16:16

Cath Kidston sheet and frame from working class style princess nylon tent might work? Boden kaftan and some sticks?

alltheothernamesareinuse · 06/01/2017 16:16

Oh yes merrymouse, they sound great, that business in a bix thing has had loads of great feedback. Lots of satisfied business owners are making a killing, hardly needing to lift a finger, the demand for teepees being so great.
However, I've heard that the poor owner has been very upset by really unfair criticism from people who just dn't understand how hard it is to have the responsibility of taking £500 and a further £25 per month from each of over 250 people. Indeed I saw a post the poor woman has written in desperation. Poor thing is apparently making no money at all. Well, I for one, am counting my blessings.

I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight about fairies coming to get me, staring in at me through the window with murder in their eyes whilst menacingly waving their wands.

merrymouse · 06/01/2017 16:19

This business in a box thing - they seem to be charging £495 just to to resell the teepees - what profit do you think I could make per teepee, and how many teepees would I have to sell to make it worthwhile?

I'm assuming that you just order them and they arrive in a couple of days - does anyone have any experience of this - has anyone seen any online reviews?

Manumission · 06/01/2017 16:21

£495! Shock

Wjat do you get for that?

OP posts:
alltheothernamesareinuse · 06/01/2017 16:22

merrymouse about 5000
