Just read this article

Wearing PJs in Tesco's should be banned because its offensive and making people feel uncomfortable, Ridiculous. Not sure about you but I generally don't find anything threatening or to be worried about by people in PJs? I cant see that its indecent either; I doubt people are parading down the isles in skimpy Lingerie this time of year. Even if they were there is nothing wrong with the human body. This isn't Calvinist Geneva or Taliban controlled Kandahar. Some people are offended by or feel uneasy around Goths, Clowns, Women in niqab or burka, Transsexuals, people in football shirts etc. It doesn't mean that their personal hang ups should restrict other peoples freedom of dress. People are so easily offended these days.

Anyone else offended by people in PJs in Tesco?

What is a Boden?

I think it maybe because Pyjamas are so associated with 'home' and 'bed' and 'rest' it's kind of irksome to see people acting as though the supermarket/public place is their home and bed?

happynewyearchum · 05/01/2017 20:32

Boden is a brand.

Lunar1 · 05/01/2017 20:33

The only excuse to leave the house in pj's is via ambulance or in labour. Anyone else doing it is a lazy chav.

AliTheMinx · 05/01/2017 20:33

It's not offensive per se, but of course it shows pretty low standards if someone can't be bothered to get dressed, so can totally understand the company's viewpoint.

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:33

Sorry should have used Google. I see now it's a clothing place.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/01/2017 20:34

I hate loafing in my pj's at home. No way would I be seen in public!

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:34

I learn something new everyday. This is my best feed into the world and strife of the middle class.

It's a pricey brand associated with pj wearing in the supermarket. Off duty Footballers wives type. Wink

MadMags · 05/01/2017 20:35

But Holiday you've been equally horrid and sneery about "middle class mummies".

Grilledaubergines · 05/01/2017 20:38

To be honest, I'd rather see people shopping in their PJs, than yet another Boden clone, smelling like they bathed in perfume and looking like they've ironed out every crease and semblance of a personality.

Yes. Of course you would.

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:39

Bloody Nora it's a bit pricey for every day wear. If there where only to options between Boden and pj's I would be rocking the Flannel cotton on my shop. At least I would have some money to buy groceries. Or is that why they invented credit cards?

I just find it odd - I am currently wearing grey knitted joggers and matching long hooded cardigan, which were sold as "lounge wear", and if I needed to nip out, I'd pull of my trews and stick jeans on. That said, I did once have to run into work to pick up some files just before midnight, and went in very similar costume - I was car/office/car so only the security guard saw me.

When I was in the comfort of my home some one came round to visit and commented that I was in my bedtime clothes. It wasn't my bedtime clothes I was wearing a t-shirt and jogging bottoms. I go to bed with only my undies on. What should I have worn when she came over unannounced stupid woman.

HolidaySpiritsReinbeerAndWhine · 05/01/2017 20:40

MadMags, yes, not nice is it? It's almost like we shouldn't jump to assumptions about people especially over what they wear, as it usually has no bearing on our lives. We all silently judge, name calling is a step too far.

SheldonCRules · 05/01/2017 20:40

It's lazy, chavvy and shows how low some people's standards are. Unless rushed to hospital, there's no reason to not get dressed to go to school or the supermarket.

Fuxfurforall · 05/01/2017 20:41

They pop into the local Toby Carvery here and enjoy a full roast dinner in their pyjamas and dressing gowns.

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:41

What's wrong with popping to the shop in jogging bottoms and a hoodie? Is that a faux pas too?

Is Boden only online? Have no idea, I did have a look at their clothes and think it's mad anyone would actually spend money on them. But it doesn't offend me if people do, I just think they have more money than sense.

It doesn't offend me if people wear PJs to the shops, I just think they're lazy. I guess we're much the same.

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 05/01/2017 20:42

Oh the poor sensitive soul. Imagine what kind of person he must be to get so worked up and outraged over pjs and dressing gowns!

I'm picturing...7pm they've probably got changed into fresh pjs to have a quiet night in, decided they wanted a bottle of wine and some nibbles and live spitting distance from the shop...so why bother getting dressed. Confused

WaitrosePigeon · 05/01/2017 20:45

If I ever saw anyone dressed in their nightwear, I would wander what other lazy and undesirable things they do in their lives.

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:45

LuluLovesFruitcakes well if everyone's assumptions are correct more likely a create of Stella, a packet of smokes and a top up on the lecy meter card.

1DAD2KIDS · 05/01/2017 20:46

I am sure they are worth their weight in the smugness they give other people.

My son would die a thousand deaths if I did the school run in pyjamas.
