I know of a baby girl called Ripley
she's such a pretty little baby and then you hear her name, poor thing.

I don't see anything wrong in naming a child Ripley, there are so many other place names / surnames which are popular , and unless told, most people wouldn't think 'Alien'.

I would be surprised to see it crop up in a Tatler 'posh' list though. But then again....

If I still had the equipment needed to make a baby then Yak would be top of my list. I may spell it Ychaxcjk tho.

And get all shouty and red-faced when people don't use the correct pronunciation "Briany", too.

Imagine being called Dave if all your siblings had names like Yak, Koala and Lark. You'd wonder what you'd done wrong.

I'm tempted to have another one just so I can call it Scar. Thankfully Mr Elbows' vasectomy will save me from myself! I'll just have to make do with declaring all the n's in my name silent. That's going to make my name male now. A "trans-name", how very down with the kids!
