My two young children got a play shop for Christmas (2.5 year old DD and 18 month old DSyep they're close together- 13 months apart to be exact)
Anyway DD just asked DH to go and play shops with her, to which he replied:
"Shall we play 'Let's rob your shop?'
DD said yes please and now she's tidying up her shop waiting for her 6ft 7 father to descend on it.
AIBU to stop to this or shall I let it play out and see what happens? When DS takes things off DD he usually gets a whack for his troubles so that could be quite funny (watching DD defend her shop against DH)

No balaclava but he has got his cricket hoodie on. To be fair he looks more like ET when he has that up than a threatening robber.

DO also got a shop and asked me to play, I joked "let's fleece some rubes" and now her favourite game is "fleecing people". She charges £76 for a pint of milk

It's kind of all calmed down now and the burglar is sat reading his book whilst the Shopkeeper takes pictures of the damage . Anyone have any funny anecdotes about role playing?

No anecdotes to share OP but I've just laughed so loud at your update DM's dog is looking really worried and has come to see what's wrong

It reminded me of someone telling me their older brother used to say 'lets play Cafe ' to get her to bring him a snack from the kitchen.
She would take his order and prepare and bring it.

I'll have to remember that one Roller for when the kids are older.
To be fair my DD is pretty good at hanging washing on a maiden. It does all end up in the same spot but she's getting there.

Harmless fun. When I was in Primary school we had our own toy shop set up as a project and that was "robbed" during the night and the poor paper mache shopkeeper had been attacked too. I think it taught us a pretty good lesson about stealing etc.

Dd and ds2 used to role play - he was the dog, she was the owner. It was great - until the day I heard him crying and shouting and protesting. He was upset because she had taken him to the vets to be put down ...

Next time video it It will be great to look back on when she's older!

DD1 used to get her younger sister to play Cinderella. She would kindly let her be Cinders while she would be a mean (never ugly) sister. An effective way to get your younger sister to tidy your room.

There's six years between me and my next eldest sibling.

They were bastards at role play.
