to not wear or own a pair of pyjamas?

I wear short sleev knee length cotton jersey night shirts. I get very hot am in my 50s and don't want to feel fully dressed in bed. I do find I slightly want to air my nethers. Is that wrong?

Yanbu, of course not. I wear nightgowns and sometimes even really short light ones too if I'm hot (most times). The only pajamas I own are worn for hanging out in at night, but I never ever sleep in them. I like to 'air' as well.

MaeveMillay · 30/12/2016 21:26

I can't even slightly understand why you would think you couldn't wear exactly what you want to in bed.

Freshprincess · 30/12/2016 21:27

Me too, I hate pyjamas.

Ohyesiam · 30/12/2016 21:28

Relax. There are no nightwear police.

Wookiecookies · 30/12/2016 21:28

YABU for starting another pyjama thread OP. I fear it is about to get heavy in here. Grin

Blacksox · 30/12/2016 21:29

I am wearing pyjamas, but strip em off before bed as I have to sleep naked.

I love lounging in pjs though.

Wookiecookies · 30/12/2016 21:29

BTW, I dont wear PJs in bed, I sleep au natural. I keep pyjamas for post shower lounging only.

FiveShelties · 30/12/2016 21:30

I love my PJs for relaxing in but would never wear them in bed, I would roast.

steff13 · 30/12/2016 21:30

I own lots of pajamas, but never wear them to bed.

SparkleShinyGlitter · 30/12/2016 21:31

Don't own pyjamas. I sleep naked even in winter and wear just a bathrobe when I first get out of bed until I have my wash.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 30/12/2016 21:33

I change into pjs as soon as I know I'm staying in for the rest of the day. I just find them so comfortable.

The bottoms come off before bed though.

dollydaydream114 · 30/12/2016 21:34

Why would it be wrong?! Doesn't everyone just wear what they want to in bed?

I wear pyjamas for lounging in the house in the evenings, but I don't wear them in bed unless it's absolutely freezing, probably no more than about three nights a year! Most of the time I don't wear anything in bed; it makes me feel a bit claustrophobic for some reason.

If I'm in a hotel or someone else's house I wear a t-shirt style nightie, purely because I used to sleepwalk and am convinced I will wander somewhere naked (even though this has actually never happened and I haven't sleepwalked outside my own bedroom in about thirty years).

ThePinkOcelot · 30/12/2016 21:34

I never used to wear pjs. I preferred night shirts. Now I love pjs and don't wear night shirts. Each to their own though!

TrustySnail · 30/12/2016 21:35

I haven't owned or worn pyjamas since I was a small child. I wear sleep t-shirts or nightgowns, with dressing gown if I go downstairs. I'm almost never cold in bed - I once borrowed my sister's pyjamas when unexpectedly staying over at her house, and felt far too warm and restricted.

NK346f2849X127d8bca260 · 30/12/2016 21:36

I can't sleep in pyjamas but I do sometimes put pj bottoms on if not getting showered and dressed as soon as I get up.
I think I am odd, I wear a Cami vest top to bed and go knickerlessBlush I do keep them in the drawer by my bed in case I have to get up to anyone at night, fortunately rare these days as youngest is 13!

AliceInUnderpants · 30/12/2016 21:36

I wear PJs with pants, to hold in the continence pads Grin Can't all be so spritely in our thirties fifties.

KindergartenKop · 30/12/2016 21:37

A former boss of mine told me she had a 'fanny fan' at the end of her bed to help with this.

TwinkleTwinkleLittleBat · 30/12/2016 21:42

I gave up pjs long ago. I like the idea of them but they give me a giant wedgie whenever I move in bed and I can't be doing with that. I couldn't sleep in the buff though; too vulnerable. I wear a loose jersey nightie usually. Maybe socks if it's cold.

Wookiecookies · 30/12/2016 21:48

Loving the "fanny fan"! Grin

tighterthanscrooge · 30/12/2016 21:57

I'm wearing mummy pig pyjamas Grin
Height of sexy sophistication
And yes, I'll wear them all night in bed

Pixel · 31/12/2016 01:22

I wear whatever the weather dictates. Mostly it's nothing, sometimes I have a short nightie, sometimes pjs.

If you don't even own pjs then all I can say is you've never been camping Grin.

DailyFail1 · 31/12/2016 02:51

As long as you wear underwear under them while staying at someone else's, it doesn't matter what you wear to bed. Nobody wants to see other peoples' crotch sweat/bodily secretions on their sheets.

Manumission · 31/12/2016 02:54

I keep a couple of pairs for emergency hospital purposes because I wouldn't want to wear something someone else bought in a hurry.

MissMatchedSocks · 31/12/2016 03:00

I like to wear them for lazing around the house but prefer less in bed. Whatever's comfiest for you!

Redglitter · 31/12/2016 03:32

I always found I got awful tangled up/nearly strangled when I wore nightshirts. Now it's always pj's
