I wear short sleev knee length cotton jersey night shirts. I get very hot am in my 50s and don't want to feel fully dressed in bed. I do find I slightly want to air my nethers. Is that wrong?

Birthday suits... both of us

I have pyjamas but I never wear them in bed...Yuk...far too hot and stuffy. I wear them as lounge wear during the day if I'm not going out.

There used to be a 'Free your Foof' facebook page for exactly this quandry.

NormaSmuff · 31/12/2016 10:13

i only when them in bed when it is -3 or more.
i too like an airing.

Oh op you can't host a drinks and nibbles party without pjs. Grin haven't you read that thread?

bananafish81 · 31/12/2016 10:30

I'm always cold so the thought of sleeping in the buff is terrifying! If we leave the heating on overnight the room gets very stuffy and headachey, so I pile on the clothes. Knickers and vest top, with PJ bottoms and long sleeved top over, plus socks. Would happily have the thickest tog duvet that pins me to the bed, but DH would expire of heat exhaustion. So still a relatively thick winter duvet, but lots of layers

I don't like wearing PJ bottoms without knickers because I don't even like wearing knickers without a pantliner - and you can't stick a pantliner to PJ bottoms!

Hot summer evenings it's just knickers and a vest top.

Even if i start off in bed wearing PJs, or just a tea shirt, I will have discarded them whenever I get hot in the night. No conscious thought process involved, and yes, it happens even when I sleep alone. HTH

I only have them for wearing at other people's houses or camping, I wear nightshirts in bed generally. I also wouldn't dream of buying them for loungewear, I much prefer leggings and teeshirts for that as I can still go out in them (I am often in and out during the evening).

Same here, summer or winter, home or away. And we don't own any PJs either, not even for lounging about in.

Mum2jenny · 01/01/2017 19:44

Don't possess pjs either. Do have nightdresses but never wear them, but I do pack them if I'm away from home but never wear them

MissCherryCakeyBun · 01/01/2017 20:13

The only time I wear anything in bed is one week in 4 when it's the PANTS OF DOOM as the are laughingly called in our house. I have nighties and pj's for wandering round the house in but to sleep in both DP and I are naked. I lived in a house with no heating at all for 5 years and still only wore socks and occasionally a fleecy hat in bed when it geot below -5. A decent duvet and patchwork throw over quilt and I was toasty.
I'm currently a one woman heat wave every hour or so 😳 With any luck it won't be long before the pants of doom are gone forever 😝😀

Hate pyjamas. Hate them in bed (too hot); wouldn't dream of wearing them as clothes (simply cannot see how they are as comfortable as, say, leggings and a T shirt). It would be safe to conclude from this that I would never host a drinks and nibbles party in them either!
