Like those where the OP writes hardly anything and expects others to entertain them.

Now you go.

OP posts:

You're buying a handbag??? When people in Aleppo are dying??

You seem very

derxa · 29/12/2016 16:30

I'm very entitled and off to buy a handbag. I only have £30000 to spend Sad

SirChenjin · 29/12/2016 16:31

£30000 would save Aleppo, you know Angry

Soubriquet · 29/12/2016 16:36

Oh I'm so glad others are finding everything being traced back to Aleppo annoying

DodoRevival · 29/12/2016 16:37

I think for me (though feeling rather flippant now Aleppo has been mentioned) its threads that as questions sonething about X and people post saying how they don't do X.

Such as:

'What's you favourite gin?' and a poster replied 'I don't have one as I don't drink' or

'What chocolates are the nicest?' and there's a reply 'I haven't touch anything containing sugar for 4 years so I can't tell you'

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:39

pier reviewed articles

Hmmm. Good idea. My next article review will be done on a pier. Preferably with a strong drink.

Boundaries · 29/12/2016 16:40

There was a recent thread where every time someone said "Feminism is important because.." there was a poster saying "THE MDDLE EAST"
increasingly shoutily.

It was bizarre.

BillSykesDog · 29/12/2016 16:41

People asking for links to things which have been widely reported as headline news from multiple sources and are widely available via google...

Bitofacow · 29/12/2016 16:43

Lweji you're going to sit on a colleague while having a drink????!!!!!????

Are you doing it in Aleppo?

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:44

Boundaries

Was that about the women fighting ISIS?
Or just the overall condition of women in the Middle East?

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:45

Pier, not peer. Grin

And I'm not even apologising for pointing it out.

RichardBucket · 29/12/2016 16:46

I'm very entitled and off to buy a handbag. I only have £30000 to spend

Followed by an AIBU about your greedy au pair demanding a pay rise from £20 a week for 75 hours of work.

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:47

Aleppo is landlocked, so, no.

Bitofacow · 29/12/2016 16:47

Do they sell handbags on the peer?

Boundaries · 29/12/2016 16:48

Lweji

It wasn't terribly clear. Although it ended up with statements like "if you haven't used a machine gun to fight for your rights you should shut up".

Bitofacow · 29/12/2016 16:49

OMG we are turning this into an in joke clique thread.

The shark has been jumped and we have become what we despise.

Oh wellBiscuit

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:50

Who knows?

Sometimes it feels like handbags at dawn, this peer review business.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 29/12/2016 16:52

The cycling ones. Most of the time it is glaringly obvious the cyclist was wrong and it's just an excuse to have a moan about cycling in general.

RichardBucket · 29/12/2016 16:53

Bitofacow Nah, it doesn't count because the joke is explained in the thread. It's the ones where people post about off-thread jokes so half the posters are bewildered and the other half smug that they know what's going on.

Lweji · 29/12/2016 16:53

"if you haven't used a machine gun to fight for your rights you should shut up".

Ah, yes, I know her well.
We did lock handbags at dawn, dusk, and in between. Grin

Boundaries · 29/12/2016 17:07

Don't bring a handbag to a machine gun fight, Lweji

CaraAspen · 29/12/2016 17:11

The Alexa bag "wanters" make me laugh: bet not one of them looks like Alexa! Haha

user1471517900 · 29/12/2016 18:30

When this thread dies (as it will soon) I must remember to post on it in a month's time to add the zombieness to it.

Not sure it's been said, but anyone who uses the "MN mantra of no is a complete sentence" or something like that annoys me too

Ooh I have another!

"Today is the first anniversary of my husband's death, I'll be letting off balloons with the children in the park, their idea bless them, any advice on where I can get helium last minute on a Sunday?"

27 posts of - "OP do you REALISE that the world is running out of helium because of selfish fuckers like you, what is the point, oh and BTW you'll almost certainly murder a defenceless animal when the balloon deflates and falls into the woods. I hope you can live with that? I understand your three young children are grieving it maybe it's time you all cared about the environment!!"

I wish I was exaggerating. I once posted on a "what are you doing this Father's Day" thread saying it'll be my 3rd without my beloved dad and I wanted to tell DD all about him so we were going to write a note on a balloon and let it off and remember him. I got totally lambasted and posters demanded I buy fucking rice paper and make a boat out of it to put in the local river. That was when it was mentioned that posters had been flamed for this before (including a very real story of a widow and her children). It's the only time I've been genuinely upset by responses

I did the helium balloon thing and don't feel bad.

Had some lovely PMs from non-twats though after that experience!

Boundaries · 29/12/2016 18:35

Dog threads.

So predictable.
