Like those where the OP writes hardly anything and expects others to entertain them.

Now you go.

OP posts:
OneMoreStepAroundTheBendIGo · 29/12/2016 13:38

Ones in AIBU with "please be gentle" in the OP. If you want to be treated gently, perhaps AIBU's not the best place for you to post?

Also, those lift-sharing ones where the abbreviations used mean you can't quite work out who's giving a lift to who, who else is in the car etc and spend ages trying to visualise the OP's route to work via school and friend's house picking up one chil with carseatd, dropping off another adult, waiting for second adult not to turn up before realising that you have completely over-invested in a thread where the common sense advice is to talk to the other adults involved to find an amicable solution.

Katy07 · 29/12/2016 13:44

The threads where everyone recommends LTB because OP's OH has chopped the carrots instead of cutting them into batons.
The threads where you get cut down for suggesting that the OP actually talks to her OH about carrot-chopping and communicates her desire for batons rather than assuming he can sense that.
The threads where you get jumped on (in a particularly nasty way) just because you failed to explain yourself well enough for their liking (or where they've misunderstood because it suits them to do so)
The threads where posters get downright bitchy to others just because they disagree with differing opinions.

Wookiecookies · 29/12/2016 13:45

Posts with Too many dds, dcs, SDC's, PILs, DNs,GPs DPs etc. if it is not one or two people being discussed with these abbreviations, it makes my head explode trying to figure it all out! Use the abbreviations by all means, but not when a post involves you describing 30 different people.

user1471517900 · 29/12/2016 13:49

I'm starting to worry that this might need a second thread....Which would then make this thread part of the problem to people!

OP posts:
RichardBucket · 29/12/2016 14:35

If threads are "cliques" then they aren't welcoming to all. Make yer minds up!

BastardGoDarkly · 29/12/2016 14:47

I think others call them cliques, those in the threads are very welcoming.

redshoeblueshoe · 29/12/2016 14:54

I hate threads that ask what rent should I charge my adult DC ?

MNer's pile in and call you an evil bitch, stating no one should ever charge their DC for living in their own home. This is usually done without knowing anyone's financial situation.

Bitofacow · 29/12/2016 14:54

This thread is about threads that annoy you.
Cliquey or friendly threads annoy some people. That's OK. You don't have to agree.
Didn't someone 8 pages ago say defensive posters were annoying?

Katy07 it's those bastard carrots again.

SirChenjin · 29/12/2016 15:00

Fuck me Bit - you still bitchin' about your non-Christmassy carrots?? I feel even sadder (look at my sad face, this is how sad I am -> Sad) for you now.

BearsDontDigOnDancing · 29/12/2016 15:06

I once saw on a pretty serious thread, the op having quite a hard time of it with some situation or other, and made a couple of grammar errors, for someone to come along with the some sort of non-apology apology for feeling that they just had to point out the error....along the lines of.

"I am so so sooooooooooo sorry I know I shouldn't do it, but I cannot help myself, it is giving me hives but it is whispers their not there, sorry again, please carry on"

Ok, love, just because you have posted pretending you are so sorry to have to do it but the magical bloody pedant fairy is standing over your shoulder wagging her tiny little finger at you forcing you to post against your will or something, then no you are not sorry, it is still impolite and quite frankly a shitty thing to do. I have seen it a few times since, it is like it is in response to posters saying how they hate the "grammar police" so now some of them have to post in such a fake overly apologetic way but still making sure they make their point - but we might not think they are dicks.

lilyb84 · 29/12/2016 15:07

What's this about pages? Are they optional? I'm learning so much on here!

Onthecouchagain · 29/12/2016 15:16

I can't stand the humble brag ones. Bragging about their life in while pretending there's a problem, they drip.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 29/12/2016 15:22

Designer handbag threads where someone comes along and suggests not buying a handbag

bowchikkawowwow · 29/12/2016 15:29

Armani I have no idea what thread this could be about Grin.....

Bejazzled · 29/12/2016 15:39

The competitive non eating threads, a chicken to make thirty meals, one pound of mince to make fifty meals and the takeaway for two people that actually feeds six.

Chippednailvarnishing · 29/12/2016 15:44

Threads where the OP posts flowery descriptions of a situation in the hope of pursading people to agree with them.

I couldn't give less of a shit whether your cooking is scrumptious or your garden is fragrant.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/12/2016 15:51

I get slightly peeved at the ones where parents say that their several children (all by now in their early teens) have never had a sip of a fizzy drink or a chocolate button has never passed their lips. It just seems unrealistic.

I also like a "should I get my three year olds ears pierced?".

derxa · 29/12/2016 15:53

The threads where people portray the 1970s as a terrible time because of fucking Jimmy Savile. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s and had an idyllic
childhood. Apologies to those who didn't.

RichardBucket · 29/12/2016 15:54

"Cancel the cheque" is really fucking tedious.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/12/2016 15:56

So did I Derxa, I wish I could transport myself as a mum back to 1973 (ish), and have my DD playing Kerplunk or out (in the near dark) on her new roller skates as opposed to her downloading another game on her new iPad (I should never have let DMIL get it, my fault entirely).
The 70's were great.

BillSykesDog · 29/12/2016 16:00

Cancel the fucking carrots

Boundaries · 29/12/2016 16:02

This may have been mentioned but I love threads where everyone agrees the OP is BU, then there is a mahoosive drip feed:

OP: AIBU to stop my mother seeing my children because she fed them ice cream.
Everyone: YABU
OP: the ice cream had arsenic in it!!
Everyone: Hmm

Bitofacow · 29/12/2016 16:05

You just don't understand. You are rich and posh and (lip curl) southern. You come on here patronising me expecting pier reviewed articles about my carrots.

In the 1970s no one had carrot trauma, when I was young we all enjoyed carrots together. Me and uncle Jimmy.

Off to buy a handbag for my spar day.

Anyone I didn't offend, don't worry I will return.

derxa · 29/12/2016 16:20

Grin Bloody hell

InglouriousBasterd · 29/12/2016 16:24

'I'm 35 weeks pregnant and haven't felt the baby move for two days. Should I get checked out? I don't want to be a nuisance.'

50 people reply to say 'go NOW, not a nuisance, they'd rather see you' etc.

OP replies 'I'll give it an hour / til morning / til DH gets home / til dinner is cooked'. FFS.
