Does everyone want to live in the US?

I was talking to an American friend and he made this blanket statement, "Everyone wants to come here!"

Is this true?

I don't even want to go there particularly, never mind live there.

I'd like to visit again, and plan to. But live there? With their gun laws and police force issues, definitely not.

I do. Ive spent a lot of time there and wanted to emigrate to Canada years ago, but the dh wasn't having it. I think as a retirement country, it would be fabulous. I'm very specific, I want to be in a certain area as it would be conducive to my hobby and the DH likes it. Would be in bear country, tho, which scares me for any pets we'd have.

Hell no. But if I lived in a 3rd world country or a war torn country, in danger, or facing hunger, disease and with no chance of a better life then I bet it would look pretty appealing.

Especially not now Trump has been elected. A dangerous man. Also guns in every home, accidental shootings, high murder rate, over processed meat, factory farming where an animal doesn't see the sun before being slaughtered at an industrial sized slaughter house.

There's a lot about the US that I love and at one point my last firm was talking about seconding me there for a few months which I would have liked but I wouldn't want to live there long term.

I've got family there and am part Native American, so could have legitimately settled there, if I had chose to.
