I was talking to an American friend and he made this blanket statement, "Everyone wants to come here!"

Is this true?

Nope

mnistooaddictive · 22/12/2016 19:43

Definitely not!

Eolian · 22/12/2016 19:44

I don't even want to go there particularly, never mind live there.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 22/12/2016 19:44

God no. They've got Trump.

specialsubject · 22/12/2016 19:45

No. Partly due to very insular people... ( not all of them of course)

The TV and chocolate alone would be enough to put me off.😉

HerodZackHunt · 22/12/2016 19:45

No. I visit but wouldn't choose to move there.

CalleighDoodle · 22/12/2016 19:45

No. Never had that urge. I fabcy a holiday to one of those tiny mountain towns, like the one on petes dragon or the bank advert with the women on the hairdressers. But no. Wouldnt want to live there.

CarolineSecretan · 22/12/2016 19:45

No!

VanessaBet · 22/12/2016 19:45

I'd like to visit again, and plan to. But live there? With their gun laws and police force issues, definitely not.

Cherrysoup · 22/12/2016 19:45

I do. Ive spent a lot of time there and wanted to emigrate to Canada years ago, but the dh wasn't having it. I think as a retirement country, it would be fabulous. I'm very specific, I want to be in a certain area as it would be conducive to my hobby and the DH likes it. Would be in bear country, tho, which scares me for any pets we'd have.

kurlique · 22/12/2016 19:46

Sure... when hell freezes over 🙄

BarbarianMum · 22/12/2016 19:46

Hell no. But if I lived in a 3rd world country or a war torn country, in danger, or facing hunger, disease and with no chance of a better life then I bet it would look pretty appealing.

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 22/12/2016 19:46

Fuck the gun laws, theres no kinder eggs

IcedVanillaLatte · 22/12/2016 19:46

No Confused I'm sure it's lovely though.

Pigeonpost · 22/12/2016 19:47

No, abs

glitterandtinsel · 22/12/2016 19:47

Especially not now Trump has been elected. A dangerous man. Also guns in every home, accidental shootings, high murder rate, over processed meat, factory farming where an animal doesn't see the sun before being slaughtered at an industrial sized slaughter house.
Not for me.

bumbleymummy · 22/12/2016 19:47

Nope

Pigeonpost · 22/12/2016 19:47

That was meant to say, no absolutely not.

eurochick · 22/12/2016 19:48

Nope.

There's a lot about the US that I love and at one point my last firm was talking about seconding me there for a few months which I would have liked but I wouldn't want to live there long term.

JumpingJellybeanz · 22/12/2016 19:48

Nope, no desire to live in a country that loves its guns more than its children.

Birdsgottafly · 22/12/2016 19:49

No, I don't want to even visit.

I've got family there and am part Native American, so could have legitimately settled there, if I had chose to.

I'm from an immigrant family, who chose the U.K.

Iced vanilla, you have to question a country that allows guns for children but not kinder eggs!

OddBoots · 22/12/2016 19:50

Not on your nelly.

SittingAround1 · 22/12/2016 19:50

No, too worried about getting shot. Also health insurance would be a concern. Their cheese is too plastic.
