I have one, in fact it is the second one in 8 months . The lids keep breaking

Twinkie1 · 19/02/2007 13:18

Excellent - we have a new lid too.

itsmeNDP · 19/02/2007 13:18

I just use normal black bin liners in mine

£80 for a foosty pedal bin. That's a larf.

Seriously?

itsmeNDP · 19/02/2007 13:54

mine doesn't smell

TrinityRhino · 19/02/2007 13:56

I showed that bin to dh and he said for that price it would have to take itself outside and empty itself

jampot · 19/02/2007 13:58

i think its ok for a nice bin

jhyesmum · 19/02/2007 14:02

I like mine. It is a bit of a bother to keep clean though. Any spillage really shows up. I think the their bags fit a bit better but they can be hard to find in your average grocers.

Skyler · 19/02/2007 16:55

I have the 30l bin and prob empty every 3 days. Not long enough for it to start smelling anyway. Partly why we didn't get the bigger one. I have to admit I use the brabantia bags at the moment at I bought a load at a discount and I have never found a supermarket brand that doen't tear! Any tips?

Interesting about them sending out replacement lids. My mum gave me one after Christmas as it didn't fit their kitchen cupboard - lasted 1 week before teh lid broke. We have the guarantee but mum didn't keep the receipt so have no proof of purchase - is it worth trying for a replacement?

lackofgravitas · 19/02/2007 17:20

scotlou - definitely. I just got mine sorted out over the 'phone, they didn't even ask me how old it was. He did ask where the Brabantia logo was, not sure if that was to figure out what age/model it was or something, or to prove I really had one!

Caligula · 19/02/2007 20:21

You have to use baby oil to clean them. Just wipe them over and they gleam. (An Anthea T tip)

How comes you people have so much rubbish? Or am I just a slob who never throws anything away? Seriously, sometimes the bin isn't full when it's binman day, but I just can't stand the smell.

WideWebWitch · 19/02/2007 20:31

Good lord, a 92 message thread about bins? Although I have just read it

Caligula · 19/02/2007 20:32

Bins are fascinating.

Caligula · 19/02/2007 20:32

And it hasn't turned into a ruck yet!

WideWebWitch · 19/02/2007 20:33

Well I read it thinking 92 posts, someone must have taken umbrage at something somewhere for it to be this long...but no!
