80 quid! Is it gold?

RustyBear · 18/02/2007 18:23

Is it the Brabantia one that you just wave your hand at & it opens?

We have a big Brabantia soft touch type one. It's fab and gets loads of use and is in view (no where else to hide one), so worth it for us.

Hulababy · 18/02/2007 18:28

Do you mean this one?

gothicmama · 18/02/2007 18:29

if it's on show worth it

It does come with a 10 year guarantee!!! When our lid broke, they just sent us a new one.

Nemo2007 · 18/02/2007 18:37

it is just a bin isnt it...

Skyler · 18/02/2007 18:38

We paid £65 for a 30 litre almond Brabantia bin. DH nearly had a fit, but I LOVE IT. And it is well worth the money imo. I use it loads every day and it looks nice (and not much in my kitchen does.) I will get another if it dies in 10 years time. And that cost averaged out over 10 years makes it a bargain!

littleducks · 18/02/2007 18:39

And you still have to touch it and get dirty hands?

LIZS · 18/02/2007 18:41

We have a 35l blue Brabantia pedal bin bought cheap in Next cos it had a slight dent ! However we found it got whiffy before it was full and we couldn't get the proper liners abroad so have reused supermarket bags as binliners recently. Can you get a replacement clip to hold the real bags in , ours was lost in a previous move !

Skyler · 18/02/2007 18:42

here . I was miserable at the time I bought it due to having just moved and it did cheer me up . I am such a loser.

Skyler · 18/02/2007 18:43

Ours doesn't have a clip???

Walnutshell · 18/02/2007 18:44

I'm also always rather shocked by teh price of a decent pedal bin - even in Matalan!!! Also the same for freestanding wardrobes (not from Matalan)...

LIZS · 18/02/2007 18:45

It is a sort of ring that fits through 2 holes in the liner and bin insert to hodl it in place. Possibly the fancier one doesn't use the esame . Now I think about it could use a new metal inner too !

lilgrayfox · 18/02/2007 18:45

i'm after the red one but haven't quite succumbed yet

You crazy, crazy people

madmarchhare · 18/02/2007 18:49

Yes, it is utter madness but I will get one when we have new kitchen .

Hulababy · 18/02/2007 18:50

No clip on my touch one. Doesn't get smelly either. We get the bags from John Lewis. Waitrose or our local hardware/kitchen type shop.

lilgrayfox · 18/02/2007 18:51

hear hear !!!! but no new kitchen excuse for me
:-(

RustyBear · 18/02/2007 18:52

I have the 50 ltr one like Hulababy & Lockets - but I got it in Makro about a year ago for £33 +VAT - my SIL was very because she'd just paid £92 for hers.

But now they do this one that has a sensor & you just have to wave at it
