To sometimes have a takeaway.

Sometimes, when we feel like it DH and I have a takeaway, even though there is perfectly edible food in the fridge.

Unfortunately the PIL have got wind of this, and as a result we, well me really (because woman = cook Angry ) are being accused of being profligate, wasteful and thoughtless.

It's such a petty thing, but they bring it up nearly every time we see them!
So IABU?

We had one tonight.

My MIL was not impressed when she last visited and we ordered (a very nice) Indian. She no doubt assumes I am lazy for not cooking a meal from scratch every single night Hmm
In fact, she's rolled her eyes plenty at nice dinners I have made too!

I remain baffled by her hostility to the beautiful takeaway, and presumably am common as muck to have one every Friday.

Yeah - we're all plebs on here.

Did you offer t lend her one (licked clean, obviously)?

Blackbird - would she expect your DH to cook or just you, because you're the woman.

We bought a chocolate cake last time in laws were over instead of baking. MIL had to point out it wasn't home made and directed this at me. Hmm
