To stop sending money to ungrateful brats???

Every year I've sent Christmas money to my neices and nephews. Last 2 years I've reduced this slightly as it was costing me a fortune at the £ per kid. Close to £400 just on this part of Chistmas.

There is a view that because I work and the parents dont, and that I dont have kids that I am 'posh' ...... and, as such should be simply thrilled at handing over the money.

But heres the rub, in the 10+ years I've been doing this I've yet to receive so much as a thank you or even a Christmas card in return. And - its almost become a 'demand' - I remember one night having to leave a (pre)Christmas meal out to dash out to give my DB the money as 'the kids would like it early so they can buy what theyd like' he literally rang and rang and rang until I left the restaurant to stroppily hand over £100 for his kids.

I've been with DH 4 years and half of the nieces and neplhews have ever met him, such is their lack of interest at seeing us unless its to collect ££.

WIBU to just stay at home with DH, leave the ££ in the bank and sod the lot of them?

Apparently I am a 'stuck up toffee nosed cow, who needs to remember where she came from' and DH 'shouldn't worry as I will soon send him back to where he came from' (he is mixed race) WOW. And I do mean WOW.

This is coming from one 'd'Bro.... who is aggrieved I have not showered his latest DC with ££££ and held him aloft in awe and wonder as Father of The Year.... I am less than enthused to do so given that he has 3 other kids he has dropped.

I am also an ungrateful cow for all the things he has 'done' for me... great stuff like lie, cheat me out of money, outright steal from me, bring the police and druggies to my door... gahhh will create a new thread on whether I just go all out NC now so as not to confuse this one, but did want to provide the update.

Happy New Year from this 'toffee nose'! hahahah

wow! They all show their true colours in the end.

I remember an ex-best mate - who knew my siblings were in mixed race marriages - come out with "you should stick to your own" Hmm
So i did - i stuck with my open minded and tolerant people. Dumped her.

I'd go either very low contact or nc.
His jealousy towards you runs too deep.

Thanks for the update. If you feel like it, you can link the new thread here.

You toffee nosed cow, you. Grin

Actually I know a cow with a rather toffee-coloured nose. She's a lovely Guernsey milch cow and very friendly.

I'm glad to hear this, surely this gave your brother food for thought and he stopped and reflected upon how entitled and how ungrateful he and his kids had been over the years. I wouldn't hold your breath though, these type of people rarely acknowledge their bad behaviour. Oh, I've just read your update, throwing insults in your direction,I suspect he now realises he has lost his cash card and all could have been avoided by a simple thank you.Forget all the agro for the time being, you've had the last laugh.

Every time I remember where I came from, I thank my lucky bloody stars I got out of there :p

You did good, OP. Glad they've shown their true colours (although I think your d-bro may have done that some time ago...) and you can drop 'em like the, um, delightful but complicated family members they are.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm amused, bemused and all out done with him. New thread with a list of 'slights' if any of you would like a giggle some of his 'highlights' and the cheek to tell ME he's done with me.
