With ds nursery ? To put you all in the picture ds is 4 and goes to a Sen nursery he's come home with this bruise on his thigh just under his bum I've not been contacted and nothing wrote in his diary Angry I'll be contacting them tomorrow about it but I find it a very strange place for him to get a bruise - also tried asking ds but he has poor understanding so didn't get much out of him Sad

YABU - they probably don't even know he has it. In any case, it is a bit of an overreaction when you haven't even asked them.

Gizlotsmum · 12/12/2016 18:09

Has he run into something?

Gizlotsmum · 12/12/2016 18:10

I would ask about it but I think to be fucking furious is a bit of an over reaction...

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/12/2016 18:10

I'm always getting bruises there by knocking into tables etc. Could that be possible.

RJnomore1 · 12/12/2016 18:10

That's an easy bruise to get from bumping into a table or toy box. You wouldn't necessarily even know it would be a bruise when it happened. Yab highly u to be "fucking furious" before you even speak to the nursery.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 12/12/2016 18:11

My DS had a similar bruise when he sat down hard on a toy car. YABU to be furious, of course ask them what happened but unless he often comes home with bruises I would not worry too much about it.

SortAllTheThings · 12/12/2016 18:11

Surely he just sat on something? DS gets bruises on his legs all the time, mostly from kneeling on toys

rollonthesummer · 12/12/2016 18:11

'Fucking furious'?! Hmm

Thurlow · 12/12/2016 18:11

That looks a bit like the bruise you get when you walk into the corner of a table?

YAB a bit U - give them a chance to explain. DC often came home with bruises they couldn't explain because they didn't remember doing it.

StopLaughingDrRoss · 12/12/2016 18:12

Looks like the many bruises my DC are covered in which they never know how they've got and invariably are from bumping into tables or slipping on play equipment. I would cool your jets until you've had a chance to speak to the nursery to be honest...

What do you think happened to make you this furious?

JenLindleyShitMom · 12/12/2016 18:13

Yes YABU. That looks like it's on the side of his thigh rather than Under his bum. It's a really easy place to bang into things. I have loads of bruises on my thighs from knocking into things. Furious is premature because you have no idea what happened.

SnatchedPencil · 12/12/2016 18:15

He probably walked into something or fell over - four-year-olds tend to do that sort of thing when larking about at nursery! I doubt the staff there knew anything - they tend not to strip the children to inspect them for bruises, you know...

harderandharder2breathe · 12/12/2016 18:15

Yabu

Calmly ask them about it

It looks like he bumped into something

chocolatecakemakesmefat · 12/12/2016 18:15

He usually has lots of bruises on like the shin part of his legs where he's been playing - there isn't many tables in the nursery because its for Sen kids and a lot of them have limited mobility/fall over a lot and it's highly unlikely that nobody's seen it happen he's got a 1-1 with him all the time , that and he's also still in nappys so surely someone would have noticed it when he's getting changedHmm

OP posts:
Crankycunt · 12/12/2016 18:15

Was he wearing trousers? If the nursery changed him, then he banged his leg, they wouldn't know. Bruises don't appear straight away.

NickNacks · 12/12/2016 18:15

And bruises are impossible to date. How do you know he didn't bang it at home?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 12/12/2016 18:17

Firstly, that's on the side of his thigh, not under his bum.

Secondly, that's an easy and common place to bruise.

Why would they be checking his thighs for bruising?

YABU

OnionKnight · 12/12/2016 18:17

I think furious is a tad of an over reaction, it's a bruise from walking into something probably.

DrunkenUnicorn · 12/12/2016 18:18

YABU Hmm

Calm down and don't approach them with that attitude. They will think you are a complete nutter.

It's highly likely he's bumped into something or even done it at home

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/12/2016 18:18

Sometimes bruises take a while to develop. Quite possible they didn't notice it.

FeckinCrutches · 12/12/2016 18:18

I find it a very strange place for him to get a bruise
What are you suggesting?

How do you know he didn't bang it at home yesterday? Bruises don't come up straight away

TheWitTank · 12/12/2016 18:20

I would bet they haven't even realised. As others have said, its a very common area for table bumps/sitting on toys. Fucking furious is a massive over reaction.

chocolatecakemakesmefat · 12/12/2016 18:20

It definetly didn't happen at home I changed him right before his bus turned up for him - hmm al phone them tomorrow and find out they normally write up any bangs or bumps that's happened and haven't it's just strange that's all

OP posts:
TheWitTank · 12/12/2016 18:23

But bruises don't always come out immediately. He could have easily done it at home.

Thingscanonlygetbetter41 · 12/12/2016 18:24

Being fucking furious is a tad OTT, my dd was constantly bruised till she was well into school he prob knocked it on something plus bruises don't often go blue on the day of accident.
