To want all this from a campsite family holiday in France

MumQuack · 30/11/2016 20:31

I have been looking into holidays online and I keep getting put off by bad Trip Advisor reviews, so I thought I'd seek some advice here! I'm also starting to think my expectations may be too high...
We have two children age 8 and 5. We want a campsite that is....not massive but not tiny, good pool facilities, restaurant on site, near a town where we can go for a few drinks/meal in the evening, pretty/interesting area, near the sea (not essential), large pitches with nice mobile homes, onsite shop, great weather?
Please help, I would love to hear your suggestions. Also, am I asking too much?!

Camping Bel.. Eurocamp

trashcanjunkie · 30/11/2016 20:33

La tranche euro camp was pretty much all of this

Murphysgirl · 30/11/2016 20:36

Eurocamp. Les Grottes de Roffy near Sarlat in the Dordogne. I think it ticks all your boxes. www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/dordogne/dr013-les-grottes-de-roffy/reviews.html

We went to siblu le Bois Masson in the Vendee last summer and really liked the area - loads to do and lovely beach. Was our 1st time with siblu and I was impressed with them! You also normally can't go too wrong with eurocamp

wizzler · 30/11/2016 20:37

Freakily, Camping Bel and La Tranche are the same place... so must be good!

Laidbackorlazy · 30/11/2016 20:37

Siblu - Brittany - can't remember the name but near quimper. much cheaper than eurocamp, great site & amazing beaches within a few miles. We had a fantastic holiday there. Know others who've been to their other sites and also had great hols.

SaintEyning · 30/11/2016 20:38

I've been to La Tranche and Bois Masson and de Roffy - La Tranche gets my vote but all are brilliant.

Norfolk!

GlitterGlue · 30/11/2016 20:42

Does it have to be France? Duinrell in the Netherlands is very good.

ladyjadey · 30/11/2016 20:46

Bois Masson is great. We also did the Brittany siblu, can't remember the name. Siblu is great for families with kids

lokivonpoki · 30/11/2016 20:47

I was just coming on to say the same as glitter, duinrell is brilliant for family's, you have the theme park and a waterpark aswell, brilliant location to go to Amsterdam, schevingham for the beach and The Hague for culture, it really is an amazing place.
Depending on if you take your children out of school for holidays groups often have deals on for £99 for a week in a 3 bed

winterisnigh · 30/11/2016 20:48

does it have to be camping, if your going for duinrell, than I would just go for the efterling!

How far do you want to travel?

Great weather and Holland might not go together?

Eminybob · 30/11/2016 21:05

L'escale St Gilles in Benodet, Brittany.
Lovely site and Benodet is a beautiful town.

QueenofLouisiana · 30/11/2016 21:22

Siblu- Dugny in the Loire Valley. No sea, but a very large river a couple of miles away (and a few smaller ones pretty close too).

A mile or so away from a town, fairly small site, good size pitches (ask for a lower number when you book if you want to be sure!). The pool is good enough for kids/ teens and well staffed. There is an indoor section and toddler pools too.

Ruth2009 · 30/11/2016 21:58

Le chapponet in brem Sur mer, vendee.
It has all you ask for, shuttle bus to beach, beautiful beaches, nice little town. Nice campsite, maybe a bit noisy, nice pool, kids club, playground, cafe, shop and restaurants in town, friendly and speak English 😂😂

MumQuack · 01/12/2016 15:44

Thanks for all your suggestions....they've helped narrow things down!

We stayed at le Chen Gris, in pommuese it has everything you want and it's a twenty minute drive from Disney (which is why we picked it)

Camping la Bsie at la trinitae sue mer Brittany. You can either book directly with the site or with Select Sites. One of the best family camp sites we have ever stayed on. Not too big, nice pool (not massive but nice) good pitches. Really family friendly, food. Shop, walking distance if a very pretty town, right by a super sandy beach...perfect.

Camping Le Littoral at Talmont St Hilaire.

WanderlustQueen · 01/12/2016 16:09

Have a little look at Ile De Re - Flowers Camping in La Flotte is lovely but you may find it too quiet - but there are other sites on the island and it's wonderful there :)
