Namechanged. "D"P moved in a few months back with three cats. I went to the doctors on Friday as I was wheezing, I was told I'm allergic to the cats. He gave me an inhaler, I'm not usually asthmatic but the cat allergy is making me so until the problem is dealt with. The doctor told me to keep them out of the bedroom and out of the living room for a few weeks and see if I feel better.

"D"P, being the kind, caring, considerate shoulder he is, sits in the same room, not far from me, STROKING one of the cats then holds his hand out and blows the loose hair everywhere! (near me). Then says to the cat, passive aggressively, "She's going to start moaning in a minute. I'm not allowed to stroke you these days". then when I do moan, he sits tutting and sighing and telling me I'm ridiculous. He also keeps leaving the bedroom door open too so they get in there. It seems he has no regard for my health but says it's me that's being a cow. Am I?

Get a nice man sized cat flap and tell him to exit with his cats!

TheTroutofNoCraic · 28/11/2016 21:33

What a dick. Get rid.
My DH is allergic to cats and there's no way I would subject him to this.

chocolateworshipper · 28/11/2016 21:35

Tell him that your GP has changed the diagnosis and that you are in fact allergic to selfish dickheads, so he needs to move out

altiara · 28/11/2016 21:36

YANBU. If he can make out you are a cow over his cats causing you health issues and then deliberately making it worse after ONLY 3 months then what will he be like next year and in 5 years. Get rid of this cockwomble! (I love mumsnet for teaching me new words like cockwomble!)

Is this Currygate man?

MollyHuaCha · 28/11/2016 21:43

He clearly doesn't understand - so give him a chance to. Perhaps pick your moment (a non-wheezing one) to sit down and calmly explain about allergies and triggers and how it is not your choice.

GabsAlot · 28/11/2016 21:46

cant be grab they didnt live together

unless theres another currygate

Bobsmum02 · 28/11/2016 21:47

First currygate now catgate, how do these men get themselves a partner in the first place?

YANBU he is a selfish dick who has no regard for your health or comfort. I think it was very reasonable of you to only ask him to keep the cats out of the living room and bedroom rather than asking him to get rid altogether!

SquinkiesRule · 28/11/2016 21:49

Much as I love cats, he and his cats need to move out ASAP. He has no regards for your health, Asthma is serious business.

jinglestheelf · 28/11/2016 21:52

Why are you staying with this man? He sounds like a really horrible person.

OohhThatsMe · 28/11/2016 23:14

Currygate was a previously banned poster, though.
