We have a perfectly good ambassador - Kim Darroch. I know nothing more about him than his Wiki page but he certainly doesn't lack experience at diplomacy. God knows what he's thinking now.

I'm going to go against the grain here. The UK could do with every friend they can get and if Farage has got the ear of the most powerful man in the western world, then lets take advantage.

It also just highlights how little Trump understands of international policy. Ambassadors are a country's representative abroad. Why would the government appoint someone clearly at odds with their objectives.
