I would love to wear a short dress for a party but not blessed with the best legs - looking for a fab pair of opaque tights that flatter the whole leg and give confidence. Please help!

M&S 60 denier bodysensor! I basically live in them. Properly opaque and v flattering.

sleepachu · 22/11/2016 16:13

Primark 200 denier for work or 100 denier for glossy

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/11/2016 16:14

Marks & Spencer Autograph tights. Pricey but so worth it.

malovitt · 22/11/2016 16:15

Primark 100 denier microfibre tights - £2.50.

They are fab.

Seryph · 22/11/2016 16:18

Seconding the Primark ones, I find they are much better than the M&S ones.

Temporaryname137 · 22/11/2016 16:20

Medium priced - m&s autograph. If you want to treat yourself and look after them, wolford are AMAZING and will last for ages.

Temporaryname137 · 22/11/2016 16:23

It's also worth looking at stuff with a pattern if your dress is plain as that can be a nice look if you like it. So eg a short black dress with nice shaping opaque black tights with crystals down the back or something. M&S and wolford both do party tights! If your dress is already sparkly or patterned, nice and simple :)

MaxPepsi · 22/11/2016 16:31

Warmlegs.
Thermal tights. Keep you nice and warm when wearing party dresses!

PandoraHadABox · 22/11/2016 19:59

Thanks to you all. The Wolford tights look great but I would be worried about snagging them...

I have one pair of Wolford tights (glossy beige/leg colour) and they have been very durable. For opaques I usually buy 100-200 primark ones and they're good.

Electrolens · 22/11/2016 20:21

M&S 100 denier bodysensor. Smooth, totally opaque and flattering.

Fredmitten · 22/11/2016 20:21

Seconding the M&S 60 denier body sensor tights. Best fit I've come across and wash well.

Lelloteddy · 22/11/2016 20:24

M&S 60 denier.

piknmixer · 22/11/2016 20:24

Surprisingly perhaps, but Sainsbury's tights, 80 or 100 denier. Wash well, almost impossible to snag and about a fiver for three pairs.

Make sure you hand wash them, drip dry and don't tumble them to make sure they last and don't go bobbly.

timeforachangeithink · 22/11/2016 20:26

Primark 100 denier.

Marylou2 · 22/11/2016 20:30

Wolford. They last forever. Cost per wear is amazing despite initial .

Palomb · 22/11/2016 20:32

Primary fleece lined tights. Not sure on the denier but they are amazing!

Temporaryname137 · 22/11/2016 20:51

If you are careful with wolfords they won't ladder! Honestly!

maddening · 22/11/2016 21:01

Sainsburys body shaper 60 den

PandoraHadABox · 23/11/2016 06:51

Which denier should is best with the Wolford's, Temp? The opaqueness seems to vary from brand to brand. There are some bargains on ebay!

PandoraHadABox · 23/11/2016 07:10

Also, according to the Wolford size chart I would be a size S (5'2" tall, 55kgs) but some of the sellers are saying that size S is a 10-12? I am a size 8 (uk), which size Wolford would I be? Thank you x

Confused about the Wolford sizes - according to their chart at 5'2" and 55kgs I am a size S, but ebay sellers are saying that S is a size 10/12. I am a size uk 8, so which size in Wolfords do you think I would be? Sorry for so many questions but need to get it right, don't want Nora Batty baggy ankles! Grin

I always think go a size up with tights if you're on the boundary - nothing worse than tights that are too tight! As a size 8 I'd be pretty sure you were a small though.

The denier depends on your dress I think. Do you live anywhere near a wolford? They have them at john Lewis or they have their own stores at Westfield? Don't know if there are any outlet stores in the uk, you could google it, but I came back from an American wolford outlet with some brilliant bargains.

If you want solid opaque I would go for 80, poss down to 60. Then see if you want matt or a bit of a sheen!

You will feel the difference when you touch them, you do get what you pay for I think ( even better if it's an eBay bargain). The natural ones are lovely too, so silky. The only thing is I take no responsibility if you get a bit addicted Grin
