I called to check he'd posted some of dds clothes I ebayd on the way to work yesterday, which he did and he texted 'the postage is £2.85'. I didn't reply but when he's left the post office recipt carefully placed on my bedside table before he went to work! It's not as if I'm spending the sale on myself. It'll go on more clothes for dd.

Would I be unreasonable to find the grubby old tin full of pennies we take on holiday for the arcade games and leave £2.85 exactly in pennies on his bedside table?

The thing is that you and DD do NOT have the luxury of time to make "progress" in tiny slow steps. By the time you get your act together (if ever), it will be too late i.e DD having to be removed because you are failing to prioritise her needs. Its so much easier to resolve things by working with SS at this stage - they will refer you to those who will help you and DD.

Really, you need to take action, not just talking to people (which in itself is good).

You colleagues friends or family ' want to help ' and will do so by telling SS because there is nothing else they can do to help . Please don't think these people won't shop you because they eventually will the longer it goes on . You still haven't explained why you won't speak to SS yourself .

Might he think you just wanted to know how much it was? Dh and I track all our expenses, and if he'd paid £2.85, I'd want to know, to put it into our budget/tracker document. And having the receipt held me remember the exact amount.
