Is this my mother?

Have been reading on mumsnet and think I finally have a label for my mother's behaviour. Narscasstic.
I text her this morning, and asked have I ever make you proud?
Am I the family disappointment?
Her reply...
That's just stupid. Sorry that's the way you feel. I'm the one ignored no matter how I try to invite my kids to do things or visit. Not continuing with this.if that's the way you feel your imagining all this. I've more than enough to cope with at the moment but don't unload on anyone.
Thoughts please?

What does labelling your mother give you? How is sending profound texts first thing in the morning going to lead to anything positive? The question was more likely to antagonise than lead to a conversation with answers.

It sounds as though there is a difficult relationship between your mother and you.
That must be hard
No one here can tell you if she or you fulfil the criteria of a personality disorder. No one.
I'd advise you to stop playing games with her and to try to build up your self esteem to meet your own needs.
Many parents mold children, withholding praise to achieve those goals. It sounds broadly normal. It is always how the person receives it that is problematic. I'd seek therapy if I were you as you can change yourself and your response to the situations.
