You know how it is: it's been a while and when you finally tackle the forest you get exhausted halfway through/brand new razors become blunt, that you decide to do the rest the next day. With new energy. Can't just be me?

i know a kid who calls her grandmother 'mimsy

Soubriquet · 05/11/2016 08:57

Me either GreatFuckability

I tried as a teen and the itching drew me mad

so I haven't done it since. I trim if it gets a bit too long but Dh doesn't care what it looks like down there.

The bush is making a come back though so we are ahead of fashion Grin

ThymeLord · 05/11/2016 08:57

My elderly neighbour is called Mimsy. I know it's an abbreviation for something but what's her full name? Vulva McVagina?

donajimena · 05/11/2016 08:57

I love the word 'mimsy' !
Imagine at the GP's going in with a sore mimsy.. (I suffered from dermatitis of the mimsy) Grin

Silvercatowner · 05/11/2016 08:59

Reminds me of the time I had 2 friends (who didn't know each other well) round for coffee - with their two year old sons. One friend used 'winkle' as a pet name for her son. The other friend used 'winkle' as the cutesy name for 'penis' (and she was toilet training him at the time). It did get quite hilarious.

I'm another one whose first thought was Jabberwocky. I will never read that poem the same way.

TaterTots · 05/11/2016 09:00

Mimsy???? Absolute perfect word to rhyme with whimsy.

Planning a night of fun and whimsy?
Now's the time to shave your mimsy.
Alone indoors you know you'll stay?
It's fine to shave another day.

singleandfabulous · 05/11/2016 09:01

Are you from the Midlands OP? My ex used to call it a mimsy. Made me laugh every time!

Moxiechick · 05/11/2016 09:01

Mimsy is hilarious Grin

I'm very much the same as you. I leave it so long then when it comes to tackling the beast it's too much for me to deal with in one shower session.

When I'm with someone, so therefore making an effort with my appearance, I tend to shave that area once a week. Anymore than that and I'm covered in ugly red lumps.

MetalMidget · 05/11/2016 09:04

applause for TaterTots

I didn't know that this was slang for the vulva until I was walking down the street and my mate started laughing hysterically as a bus bearing an advert for the film 'The Last Mimsy' rolled by. She had to explain it to me...

GreatFuckability · 05/11/2016 09:06

Same soubriquet. Even trimming is too much like hard work most of the time. My foof-fro and I are ok as we are.

MollyHopps · 05/11/2016 09:07

I had a terrible image of you shaving a Rabbit called Mimsy.

PoldarksBreeches · 05/11/2016 09:08

I'm with you. It's a 2 stage endeavour when I have left it for a few weeks. Day one, hack away the outer foliage on day one and fine tune on day 2.

ShowMeTheElf · 05/11/2016 09:08

Really liking the word mimsy Grin.

ShowMeTheElf · 05/11/2016 09:09

Really liking the word mimsy Grin.

Greengoddess12 · 05/11/2016 09:13

Fucking hell over 2 days it must be a hairy mimsy.

Love the word. We use 'fawfrau' Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 05/11/2016 09:16

hack away the outer foliage on day one and fine tune on day 2

This is absolutely me and my mimsy

MrsKoala · 05/11/2016 09:21

I don't think i'd trust myself with a razor near my mimsy, considering the bloody mess i make of my legs it's making me wince thinking about it. Don't you cut yourself? Shock

Waxing is much safer imo and you get to have a little lay down at the same time.

Winteriscominginnit · 05/11/2016 09:22

Never knew mimsy wasn't a common word for vulva, and I wasn't trying to be cute Smile it's what I've called mine for yonks. From Sussex originally but maybe I picked it up a long time ago from a friend! I'll try to see to it more often - or invest in some shears Wink

"All mimsy were the borogroves and mome raths outgrabe."

According to wikipedia, Humpty Dumpty tells Alice that mimsy means flimsy and miserable. Quite the reverse of my fanjo, which is robust and cheerful. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is frabjous.

Winteriscominginnit · 05/11/2016 09:28

MollyHopps if I ever get a rabbit I'm calling it Mimsy! Or fawfrau. Love all these new names I'm learning Grin

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 05/11/2016 09:29

We use minnie and winkie(for willie) here

MarianneSolong · 05/11/2016 09:32

I assume this is a problem with predictive text and the poster means 'Mumsy'.

Obviously as parents get older there's a kind of reversal in relationships.

I think the answer is 'Whatever works for (the two of) you.'

Itisnoteasybeingdifferent · 05/11/2016 09:34

So who is going to rename themselves as per ThymeLord's suggestion?

PS.. not me..

JellyBelli · 05/11/2016 09:35

Is it brillig?
