To think mumsnet should be opening supporting Hillary

There is a real chance that trump could get in now. Hillary clearly has fab policy's for paid maternity leave, equal pay, and a rock solid record in fighting for women's equality. See the site shewinswewin.org/record-of-achievement/

Has MN publicly endorsed her? With millions of users across the world many will be in the US.

Basically this...

To think mumsnet should be opening supporting Hillary
normage · 01/11/2016 10:35

No way! Mumsnet is not a political forum.

NerrSnerr · 01/11/2016 10:38

'We'll trump could get in, if he does many people will be saying why didn't we do more to stop this. The US president does affect the UK'

Do you honestly think Mumsnet could be the difference? You are really deluded about the influence MN has. It's a UK based parenting website.

GrinchyMcGrincherson · 01/11/2016 10:44

I don't think it's appropriate for Mumsnet as a website, to get involved in politics to be honest.

I agree. They shouldn't take a stance on something like this anymore than say brexit. Also as a U.K. Site they would just piss off lots of Americans who think it's fuck all to do with the UK.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 01/11/2016 11:47

Both her and Trump are corrupt. If you think she's interested in anything but lining her own pockets and those of the american rich you are mistaken.

SpunkyMummy · 01/11/2016 12:17

It's ultimately called imperialism. Last time we did, we burned the The White House down. Some Americans are still smarting from that episode.

This actually made me cackle. My colleague is looking at me Grin

Lweji · 01/11/2016 14:53

At least trump makes no bones about what he is and doesn't pretend to be anything different

Not sure how that makes it better. :)

"I'm a serial killer, but I'm better than my cell mate because he doesn't admit he's killed one person." Really?

Lweji · 01/11/2016 14:58

Actually, Trump has done nothing but pretend to be someone different.

Nobody respects women more.
It's being smart.
I'm a winner. I always win.
I really love the blacks, and the jews, and the mexicans.
I'm actually against abortion, now.
I'm actually against the Iraq war, now, and have always been, even though at the time I said I was ok with it.
I'm so rich that I don't need anyone to fund my campaign.

And so on.

weresquirrel · 01/11/2016 14:59

They are both equally awful. I feel so sorry for the people of the USA, having the choice between the devil or...the devil.

StrictlyPan · 01/11/2016 15:05

Is there any veracity in the notion here that 'you get the politicians you ask for'??

mygorgeousmilo · 01/11/2016 15:07

Wow! What a ridiculous post. Why would they have/show any political affiliation - especially for an election in another country?! Have you researched any of Clinton's history? Do you know her policies inside and out? Try and google: Benghazi, Hillary emails, Clintons dead friends, Clinton rape, Clinton FBI etc etc etc etc. She may be the lesser of the two evils in comparison to Trump, but that isn't saying much. She is not a champion for anyone but herself - they don't call her Killary for nothing!

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 01/11/2016 15:15

OP Don't be ridiculous.

jdoe8 · 01/11/2016 15:59

No way are they both awful! I suggest some of you educate yourself - read the site shewinswewin.org/

I suggest some of you educate yourself

I suggest you stop being rude and accept that others have a different view to you.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/11/2016 16:16

Oh and that site that you have linked is hardly unbiased is it....

It would be like linking to provide Trump sites to say how 'wonderful' he is.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/11/2016 16:17

*pro

mygorgeousmilo · 01/11/2016 16:18

Oh thanks for that unbiased link OP..... are you joking?? Hmm

NerrSnerr · 01/11/2016 16:19

Come on OP that link isn't exactly impartial is it? Can't decide whether it's you that's daft or you think we're all that stupid?

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 01/11/2016 16:20

OP you are an idiot

BeALert · 01/11/2016 16:27

Perhaps this is a more unbiased link?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspaper_endorsements_in_the_United_States_presidential_election,_2016

BeALert · 01/11/2016 16:29

Hmm MN doesn't like links with _2016 at the end. Oh well. Here's the first few parags from it...

"As of October 30, 71 of the nation's 100 largest newspapers by paid circulation have made endorsements. Of these, 56 have endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, three endorsed Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, nine gave no endorsement, two weighed in specifically against Republican candidate Donald Trump, and one endorsed Donald Trump.

As of October 31, Trump has received endorsements from only eight daily newspapers thus far. Such a small number of endorsements for a major-party candidate is unprecedented in American history.

Clinton won support from not only traditionally Democratic-leaning newspapers, but also traditionally non-political and conservative newspapers, including those which had "either never before supported a Democrat or had not in many decades ... or had never endorsed any presidential candidate, like USA Today."

Pettywoman · 01/11/2016 16:30

I hope she wins by a fair margin but I don't think Mumsnet should openly support any political party or candidate.

BeALert · 01/11/2016 16:31

Good grief.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 01/11/2016 16:33

Yep because newspaper have no bias at all. Give me strength.

BeALert · 01/11/2016 16:35

Yep because newspaper have no bias at all. Give me strength.

I guess you didn't read the bit where it said that traditionally conservative newspapers have endorsed her?
