To have a wry smile as "karma" bites DH on the arse?

DH has been in a foul mood since he got out of bed. He has sneezed once a cold. The house is cold as the boiler has broken, so he's been huffing and puffing since 7.30.

This morning he used up the last of the loo roll in the bathroom and (not unreasonably) wanted to get dressed before he replaced it. DDog started fussing at him, she got told to bog off. In the meantime DS goes to the loo. DH rants and raves at him about not looking before he used the loo.

Turns out DDog is fussing as she needs to go into the garden. While he's ranting at DS, she's had an accident in the kitchen. Which he now needs to clear up. If he hadn't spent 5 minutes whinging at DS about loo roll he'd have got DDog out in time.

I doubt he'll see the link, but it has made me smile. I'm planning on taking DS and DDog out for the day, I think we all need some space.

Oh my word. The Dementors are out in force, I see.

Thornrose · 24/10/2016 11:34

"Marriage from hell" based on one incident which provided OP with nothing but a wry smile! Do you know something I don't about their marriage? That's a hell of a leap.

Thornrose · 24/10/2016 11:36

Note to self, "back away from AIBU it's as mad as ever!"

Bitofacow · 24/10/2016 11:37

Has someone contacted the RSPCA?

Or is that comment too close to the bone.......

NewlySkinnyMe · 24/10/2016 11:38

If this is a marriage from hell then God help me.

But still the OP could have opened the back door for the dog. Right?

But still the husband could have opened the back door for the dog. Right?

JohnCheese · 24/10/2016 11:59

Oh dear....

We have:
marriage from hell
cruelty to animals
neglectful inefficient womanHmm

C'mon people, it's a comedy snippet from an average household on an average slightly off day. It's funny.

Hoojimmaflip · 24/10/2016 12:04

I'm not understanding this - why is it funny that you neglect an animal as a passive aggressive tactic to display your superiority over your dh?? BiscuitOP well done you. Your home life sounds wonderful.

Floggingmolly · 24/10/2016 12:04

Like hell was op storing stuff in the loft at eight in the morning. That little nugget was a much later drip feed Hmm

*Letting the dog out for a wee is the most basic thing you can do for your dog.

Hardly arduous.*

Indeed. I imagine that's why the OP thought her husband should have done it rather than pointlessly ranting at a child.

trulybadlydeeply · 24/10/2016 12:05

Store at least some loo roll in the bathroom.

First person up lets the dog out before doing anything else.

Get someone in to fix the boiler.

Sorted.

jayisforjessica · 24/10/2016 12:12

I'm not understanding why people are getting at the OP, honestly.

OP: doing the laundry, resetting the boiler, putting things in the loft.
DH: ranting at DC over something inane that really was DH's fault anyway.

Floggingmolly why couldn't she have been storing stuff in the loft at eight in the morning? It sounds like her day was well underway already. There are more things in heaven and Earth, etc etc.

As for it being a drip feed, I disagree. It came a very few comments later, and given the list of chores she was saddled with while DH busied himself with ranting at a child, I'm not surprised she stepped away from Mumsnet to get some of them done as opposed to sitting here waiting to satisfy our curiosity. I can see why she didn't put it in the OP, as well. People like you would have accused her of wanting a pat on the back for her performance parenting. It seems like "damned if you do, damned if you don't" with some people on this site.

Note to op - don't EVER come on MN with a light-hearted post.

Giselaw · 24/10/2016 12:14

It's the wry smile and the "karma" that's so wrong. The sort of passive aggressive shite where you're pissed off with your DH and you're secretly gleeful when things go wrong for him.

ShowOfHands · 24/10/2016 12:14

Anybody know how the moldies are? You know, while we're on the subject of joyless wankery which sucks humanity from the simplest of anecdotes.

Careforadrink · 24/10/2016 12:17

I would have been lmao op!

Everyday sexism alive and kicking in a few posters Hmm

Temporaryname137 · 24/10/2016 12:17

DDog. Is this a thing now?! Grin

Bogeyface · 24/10/2016 12:23

Stepford just rang and asked where all the wives are......Hmm

FerretFred · 24/10/2016 12:24

Anyone for playing MN bingo? We have had 'passive aggressive', 'drip feed' and multiple 'poor dogs'.

Didn't see twat or LTB. Any others missing?

trulybadlydeeply · 24/10/2016 12:27

Call 101!

Lweji · 24/10/2016 12:27

So, you let the bathroom run out of toilet paper...

That's how it all started...
