I never thought I'd turn into the sort of person who liked a certain mug or wine glass .....

... I used to mock my mother for requesting a certain tea cup. But I've found myself noticing if DH makes me a coffee and its in the 'wrong' mug Blush, and I've just gone back into the kitchen to tip my wine into another glass.

I'm officially old and I've turned into my mother.

We've just moved buildings at work & I assume no one remembered to pack the communal mugs because some bugger keeps stealing my mug. It's got my name on it ffs.
At home my Denby mugs are mine - I have kittens every time my very helpful toddler picks it up off the lounge table to take it into the kitchen.

Morning coffee MUST be in correct, special mug, otherwise day begins badly.

Wine MUST be served in proper, exact wine glass when kids asleep, otherwise evening begins badly.

I only like a certain type of mug and glass
My family recently accused me of being a princess as I had a minor hissy fit when ordering a beer in 5 guys and not being given a glass. They tried to make me use a paper cup, can you believe that ( swoon)
Feel better I am not alone Smile

I think my coffee tastes 'wrong' if it isn't in my favourite mug.

Dh actually has the different beer glasses for different beers as well as us having various size and shape wine glasses too - officially turning into Margot and Gerry.

My favourite glass was actually 35p form Sainsbos. It's very thin and elegant. I'm down to the last one though 🙁 Not keen on crystal.

Speckledy I had that Smarties mug too. Think mine came with an Easter egg.

I have** fave mugs, glasses, bowls. I silently fume when my MIL always goes for my favourite mug, even though I've hidden it at the back of the cupboard. If I'm making tea for her, I'll give her my least favourite, which is one she bought for DH and miraculously never chips or breaks no matter how roughly I handle it Grin

I know I'm going to appall people, but I've just discovered drinking red wine (only red, though), out of a jam jar type cocktail mug thing. It tastes better I swear..... Blush

I think tap water tastes better out of a chunky mug than in a proper glass, might try wine in a mug next time there's a bittle in the fridge.

I have a glass travel mug which I use for all hot drinks, only drink water out of pint glasses (nothing else is big enough) and wine has to be from my personalised glass (the others are too chunky). Fortunately DH knows this!

I got a freebie mug on a tour of a business once - after a couple of months in the cupboard I let the DC use it to clean paint brushes. DH went spare as I should have known that it was his new favourite mug. Oops.

I have a fork at my mums.

My mum has a huge mishmash of cutlery that has been collected over 30 years after various pieces of various sets have gone missing.

She has one fork which is shorter and chunky that I took a shine to about age 8. It became 'MyGiddyUncles' fork and if ever the table was laid and someone else got it, it would be swapped.

It's still my fork now, aged 30, when I haven't been living there for 12 years. I always have it when we go over for a meal. Ds1 asked if he could use it once and I told him no Grin

I have particular Emma Bridgewater mugs for different times of the day. DH unwittingly sabotages this by pulling out the nearest available mug for himself. Throws me right out. Sometimes I hide my scheduled favourite further back in the cupboard to avoid this situation. Blush

I have found my people!

I do not like mugs with straight sides, the ideal tea mug has curved sides. More cosy and huggable. I don't like thin china, tea is robust and hearty and the mug must reflect this.

I cannot drink coffee or herbal tea from a mug at all, it must be a (preferably oversized) cup shape, ideally with a saucer.

I can't cope with thick stumpy wine glasses either (unless drinking red wine), and am not particularly keen on your bog-standard round glasses. I like a bit of an angle.

This is the mug I'm going to treat myself to for my birthday. It's going to be my morning coffee mug and my Emma Bridgewater one will be for tea. I have a pretty mug from Dunelm that was about £1 so I use it whenever the house is messy (always). I don't like the messy aura contaminating my naice mugs. Now THAT'S weird ain't it Halloween Blush

Just need to buy a pretty wine glass to get all freaky about.

My ds aged 4 likes certain mugs too, and right now his twin brother is stood at the table moaning 'the caterpillar cup is mine' (I'm ignoring him).

We're a strange bunch!
