'It might not have been rape, she might have had sex and regretted it afterwards'

This statement makes no sense. If you had consensual sex and the next day regretted it, why on earth would you go through the whole horrible experience of reporting it to the police and everything that follows? You would just move on and put it behind you.

It's always trotted out as a likely explanation in 'date rape' type cases. But it makes no sense whatsoever. AIBU?

Mumof4boys have you even read any of this thread?

Marbleheadjohnson · 23/10/2016 20:37

CharlieSierra · 23/10/2016 20:39

Noooo charlie Shock

Its like a fucking tag team

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 20:48

Some woman do consent to it then regret it the next day and cry rape, to me thats utterly disgusting and it has happened a few times.

Really? How many do you think?

How many in comparison to the number of women raped each year? Or the number of women raped and then disbelieved? Or the number of men who get away with rape either because they are not reported or because the justice system fails their victims?

So would you really call it a 'likely' scenario (which is the word the op used)? Or would you say that, in comparison to the odds that a given woman is telling the truth, the odds of this happening are miniscule?

Because if you're saying the former you're a fucking idiot. And a vicious rape apologist.

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 20:51

I've read your posts on this kind of thread before, mumof4boys. You haven't improved.

growapear · 23/10/2016 20:52

This is the only story I remember in answer to the OP. It does happen but IMO it is extremely unlikely. Sadly, and perhaps because it is so rare, or because it buys into the myth, these cases do tend to get media coverage whereas a man being convicted of rape does not, which makes it appear more prevalent than it is.

woman

Aaahhhh i was wondering why mumsof4boys was not showing on other threads

growapear · 23/10/2016 20:56

Although from that article gotta love this :

The court heard how the man, who wasn't named in court, has had marriage problems since Clark came forward.

No shit, since he was shagging someone else.....but no it would be because of the false allegation of course

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 20:57

I refer you to what I said above.

How many women do this, do you think?

How many in comparison to the number of women raped each year? Or the number of women raped and then disbelieved? Or the number of men who get away with rape either because they are not reported or because the justice system fails their victims?

growapear · 23/10/2016 20:59

From the article, one also wonders how he could be surprised he had difficulties with his business, giving he's in the habit of picking woman at 3.20AM and having sex with them...not great for him anyway you look at it.

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 21:00

No shit, since he was shagging someone else.....but no it would be because of the false allegation of course

Yep. Totally her fault.

The case above isn't a particularly good example given that the allegation was retracted almost immediately. Very different to any case where the victim goes through the entire legal process (which lasts years and is very involved) - that's a very different kettle of fish and it would take someone pretty sociopathic, or mentally ill, to do that.

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 21:02

Posted too soon!

that's a very different kettle of fish and it would take someone pretty sociopathic, or mentally ill, to do that if they weren't telling the truth about what has happened to them.

growapear · 23/10/2016 21:02

WWA

It does happen but IMO it is extremely unlikely.

Not sure why then you still think i might be a fucking idiot and rape apologist ?

WomanWithAltitude · 23/10/2016 21:06

Fair enough.

You're right that cases like this get publicity disproportionately when compared to actual rape cases.

The effect is that rape is seen as rarer than it actually is while false accusations are seen as more common than they actually are. And people like mumof4boys buy into that crap.

growapear · 23/10/2016 21:10

It's actually quite good he "had problems with his tax licence". Taxi drivers should not have sex at 3.20AM with female customers although it is not illegal.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 23/10/2016 21:12

mumsof4boys is like a pigeon

Flys onto the thread, drops a load of shit, and then flies off again

Someone on another thread had a brilliant name for it....something about plopping...

venusinscorpio · 23/10/2016 21:13

Bitch plopping

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 23/10/2016 21:14

Oh was that it venus?

I had the plopping bit right Grin

CharlieSierra · 23/10/2016 21:18

I sometimes wonder, you never see more than one of them at a time do you? One disappears and another one pops up.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 23/10/2016 21:19

Plops up

How are young males supposed to know this?

This may sound radical, but.... they could ask?
