To do a straw poll on whether you're happy with where Brexit is heading?

This isn't about the whys and wherefores of how we got here but, since no one I speak to IRL is happy with the path Brexit is leading us down and I've just seen a poll in the Metro strongly in favour of abandoning Brexit it got me wondering how wide spread it is.

This isn't supposed to be an argument thread or even how you voted, just Are you happy heading towards a hard Brexit

Yes or No

Yes. I voted for brexit.

Things seem very uncertain at the moment and I understand people feeling nervous about it but Theresa May can hardly come out and tell everyone exactly what our negotiating position will be can she? I'm putting my trust in her.

Bamboofordinneragain · 16/10/2016 17:36

No. still hoping it is a terrible dream, and that I might wake up soon.

GinIsIn · 16/10/2016 17:37

No. NO NO NO.

Bearbehind · 16/10/2016 17:37

pigs if you want to discuss the situation, come over to the EU referendum section and bang your head against the wall with the rest of us! Grin

I'm just trying to gauge a general feeling. I would have thought MN is quite representative of a cross action of society on this subject.

Naw

paddingtonbear1 · 16/10/2016 17:38

No.

IamWendy · 16/10/2016 17:38

I honestly couldn't be happier that Theresa May is pm, I've always admired her and think her brexit will be as I would have it. Hard!

LockedOutOfMN · 16/10/2016 17:39

I am sad and shocked by Brexit and still - perhaps with my head too far in the sand - hoping that somehow it won't happen.

MrsBernardBlack · 16/10/2016 17:40

Yes, bearing in mind that Brexit terms haven't even been negotiated yet.

The economic consequences have not even come close to the dire predictions made by Remain, and some of them are actually beneficial - although you wouldn't think it reading the pro-Remain press.

British manufacturers are reporting a surge in export orders, and those who trade solely within the U.K. are also benefiting from becoming more competitive, which is good. Mervin King was saying that we have been trying to reduce the value of the pound, without success for three years, at last we have succeeded. It looks like house prices might fall, also quite good.

Meanwhile, two of the main architects of the Euro have admitted it was a mistake, and one of them predicts that it's only a matter of time before it collapses completely, causing terrible problems for the Club Med economies. There is absolutely no guarantee against suffering economic upheaval if we stay in.

Really!? Confused
Mumsnet is nothing like the real world, thankfully.

Bearbehind · 16/10/2016 17:42

No.

pigsDOfly · 16/10/2016 17:43

Yeah, sorry Bearbehind. I know you just wanted a straight yes or no.

I really shouldn't post on anything that relates to brexit, it just presses my ranting buttons, I'm afraid. Grin

Bearbehind · 16/10/2016 17:43

Mumsnet is nothing like the real world, thankfully

Why are you here then wendy

TempsPerdu · 16/10/2016 17:43

God no. The whole thing is terrifying.

SunnyInMay · 16/10/2016 17:44

I think you'll find that the majority of mumsnetters who are vocal about brexit are remainers so it's hardly representative of the whole of the UK.

Bearbehind · 16/10/2016 17:46

sunny that's why I haven't asked how anyone voted and won't question anyone who says Yes.

OP posts:
Buttercupsandaisies · 16/10/2016 17:47

People I know who voted Brexit didn't and still don't feel the need to challenge others views or justify them. Mumsnet polls could say it's 99-1 but that doesn't dispute that the majority of uk (esp England and Wales) voted Brexit

RortyCrankle · 16/10/2016 17:47

Yes very happy. Confident that the Government will do whatever is necessary to ensure the best outcome for this country as we work towards leaving the EU.

squoosh · 16/10/2016 17:48

No.

crossroads3 · 16/10/2016 17:49

No

Mumsnet does not represent the full balance though - most leavers I know want Brexit to happen asap

Genuine question, what do these people think will change for the better in their daily lives?

Buttercupsandaisies · 16/10/2016 17:49

Not the majority - a majority vote

Piscivorus · 16/10/2016 17:50

I don't think MN is at all representative, it has the reputation of being middle-class, left of centre, educated to a high level and more members in the South East than other areas (unless I am imagining that). All of those things tend to link to Remain and I have seen very little evidence of a balanced cross section on here either before or since the vote.

I have also seen quite a few comments from Leavers saying they would no longer post and were hiding the topic over recent weeks so no point asking if one side is not engaging although I suppose it is one way of getting the answer you want Grin

crossroads3 · 16/10/2016 17:50

the majority of uk (esp England and Wales) voted Brexit

Very small majority. The "people" really have not spoken. Fact.

allyjay · 16/10/2016 17:52

Hell no!!!
