actually-that's just the sofa
under the bed gets done once every preston guild

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 15/10/2016 14:40

Weekly. We have a robot vacuum too. However before that I did it every other week. Our sofas have visible legs and you can see straight under neath them from a few rooms in the house and our floors are dark grey meaning dust shows up in days!

SusanneLinder · 15/10/2016 14:43

Sofa weekly. Bed......er....Grin Its too heavy to move.

Threepineapples · 15/10/2016 14:47

I've just cleaned under DS' bed. I'm surprised I didn't find an infestation of small rodents high on haribo crumbs. It was filthy.

Generally I suppose about once every 6 months or so, although I can't get the vacuum under my bed because the room is too small.

I'm intrigued by the robot vacs. I thought they were a bit of a gimmick - do they really do a good job?

Bedsheets4knickers · 15/10/2016 14:49

Omg I clean under all the beds about times a year and sofas once a month . Our own bed . It's a huge Japanese style bed with a inch underneath it and so so heavy. I've never cleaned under it . Rank I know x

Sgtmajormummy · 15/10/2016 14:58

Hard floors in all our house, so if we don't clean under furniture, dust bunnies start to flit out into the room at inopportune moments.

Beds get cleaned under once a fortnight and the sofa once a month. Or at least, that's the plan...

HalloToJasonIsaacs · 15/10/2016 15:07

Sofa gets moved out whenever we're searching for something vital that's got lost so about once a month and I normally do a quick clean while I'm there.

Mouseinahole · 15/10/2016 15:16

Today we had a new carpet fitted and three strong blokes moved the sofa. They found a small hard lump of cat poo Blush.
I smelt something just after we got the new kitten in May! I looked I cleaned, I sprayed, I decided it must have been the litter tray....obviously not.
If anyone is interested it didn't go on being smelly and I have no idea how kitten forced itself under the sofa to poo!

mirime · 15/10/2016 19:40

Not enough room to move the bed to hoover under it.

Sofas, well it depends how paranoid I'm feeling about fleas. If I'm not, probably 2 or 3 times a year. If I am, 2 or 3 times a week.

deeedeee · 15/10/2016 23:12

Fairly normal then!

Pilgit · 15/10/2016 23:14

Not frequently enough. But I don't care enough to do anything about it!

Woody67 · 15/10/2016 23:31

Rarely! Confused

brasty · 15/10/2016 23:37

You clean under the sofa??

dudsville · 15/10/2016 23:45

Gosh I'm not strong enough to do this! Occasionally oh and I will tackle jobs like that together.

Pulchra76 · 16/10/2016 00:03

I blast the hairdryer under our bed every so often and it's amazing how much dust and cat hair comes flying out

CreepyClown · 16/10/2016 00:08

Under sofa erm probably last xmas like you lol
My bed I do a quick clean every few months when I can see to much cat hair under there

FishSauce555 · 16/10/2016 00:12

I'm soo pleased someone else utalises their hairdryer as cleaning equipment Grin

GuiltyPleasure · 16/10/2016 00:33

Dust is much more noticeable on hard floors, hence pulling out the sofas to clean weekly, possibly more like monthly but I can't remember the last time I properly vacuumed, or gave thought to vacuuming under the beds where we have carpet. I am now seriously regretting having ordered hardwood flooring to be put in the bedrooms next week

AnnieOnnieMouse · 16/10/2016 01:37

Under the sofa if it ever gets moved - last time was about 3 years ago.
last time I cleaned under the beds was when I redid the flooring about 10 years ago. There isn't any room for anything under there.

DeleteOrDecay · 16/10/2016 01:39

We have reclining sofas, so in theory it should be relatively easy to clean fairly regularly as you can lift the footrest and get under quite easily.

Truth is we only ever get around to it every once in a whileBlush

RainbowDashian · 16/10/2016 06:44

I vacuum under the beds when I do the bedrooms which is probably about once a fortnight, sometimes maybe a month.
Sofas probably about the same because they have a gap which swallows toys and socks and crumbs.

Fairylea · 16/10/2016 06:53

Only when we get new furniture or move....Blush and I'm very houseproud, it's just too heavy to do on a regular basis!

FireflyGirl · 16/10/2016 07:48

Under sofa about once a week. There's a decent sized gap and we have laminate, so DS builds up a collection of cars/dummies/jigsaw pieces/pegs etc I usually sweep them out once or twice a week, and properly move the sofa out about once a fortnight.

Under beds - um, it's not like they can get very dirty, is it? Blush 2 years and counting for ours... It's a wooden 4-poster so even with DH help I couldn't move it!

stillwantrachelshair · 16/10/2016 07:57

For those of you who vacuum under beds regularly, does that mean you don't use that space for storage? Or do you pull all of that out too? Our bed has drawers under it, the spare bed has all the suitcases under it & the DC each have trundles under their beds.

AmberEars · 16/10/2016 08:00

Erm.... never.
