AIBU to think that his girlfriend is an absolute disgrace to women?

"morally reprehensible" does not do the guy justice. Based on what I've read I'd extend that to cover some of his friends and family too.

Am totally confused/bemused about his girlfriend. How can she?

Of course I have no idea if it was rape, but honestly, I'm not surprised at the verdict. It it VERY hard to get a rape conviction without overwhelming evidence. Many rapists are found "not guilty" in court.

Soubriquet · 14/10/2016 18:32

I've been spiked by a friend told

He was hoping to get into my pants as he had a desperate crush on me

I didn't sleep with him. I did something worse.

Ended up having sex with another girl (also spiked) on the living room floor surrounded by everyone watching and recording on their phones

He was furious and hasn't spoken to me since

I didn't realise I had been spiked at first.

OliviaBensonOnAGoodDay · 14/10/2016 18:45

One of the scariest thoughts is that some of these men (and women!) tweeting and facebooking these vile things about his victim have kids of their own. Daughters, and sons, who are growing up to think this is just how men treat women. I despair.

mycatwantstokillme1 · 14/10/2016 21:52

To the poster who said my title was misogynistic & the other one who said I should save my anger for him, do me a favour.

Of course he's disgusting. So is she - she approached a witness and her DF bankrolled a website for CE which offered a £50k reward so I've got every right to think she's a disgrace to women.

As someone who was raped and disbelieved by many in my neighbourhood, most of the abuse I got stemmed from a woman very close to my rapist who told the world and beyond I was mentally ill, a liar, a fantasist, a whore, a slag, you name it, I was it. The abuse got so bad I successfully got a restraining order against her. But it was too late by then in a lot of ways, I had to leave my job and for years was known as the one who pretended to be raped.

So yes, I was angry with my rapist but angry with her as well. Should I not have been angry with her because she supported the lies my rapist told, just because she's a woman?!

Pull the other one, it plays jingle bells, FFS.

There does seem to be massive alarm bells about certain aspects of the retrial, including why it was fast tracked, witness coercion, witness bribery, inclusion of the complainant's sexual history, to name but a few.

Is there any body/organisation that we can write to and request clarity around some of the questionable decisions made by the judges? Given the precedent it sets etc.

user1471444068 · 14/10/2016 22:13

Reminds me a lot of the brock turner case.

JellyBelli · 14/10/2016 22:15

Is any action going to be taken against the receptionist that gave out the room key?

Kennington · 14/10/2016 22:20

Witnesses were paid? You could t make this up.
Have I missed something? Was there new evidence apart from the paid witnesses?

AyeAmarok · 14/10/2016 22:28

His partner contacted witnesses on Facebook offering them 50k if they could "think of any evidence that could help Ched" Ken.

For some reason, the judge decided yesterday that the fact that his girlfriend offered this bribe, and that 2 of the witnesses then changed their statement, wasn't something that the jury should know...

Move along, nothing to see here. Hmm

GhostlySteamTrains · 14/10/2016 22:43

She's following the bloody money and the fame that comes with being a WAG

Until all the other "WAGs" snub her & hopefully it'll be sooner not later.

Chippednailvarnishing · 14/10/2016 22:45

Its on Newsnight now.

Limp apology.

snakesalive · 14/10/2016 22:54

Ched Evans.the man who single handed stopped 99% of women reporting a rape...not much point now ,is there?

snakesalive · 14/10/2016 22:55

I really hope one day ,he has a daughter...maybe then he will realise what he did was rape..

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 14/10/2016 23:00

I have no words. The whole thing stinks.

Woody67 · 14/10/2016 23:13

And what about the gf's father?! If I had a daughter and her boyfriend treated her and other women like this (because if it wasn't rape, then at the very least it was despicable sleazy nasty and disrespectful behaviour) I most definitely would not be funding his appeal! He wouldn't be welcome in my home ever again! And she clearly has no respect for herself either to stay with someone who behaves that way.

Yes it's from the DM, but this article says it all for me. That women will now be too afraid to speak out

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 16/10/2016 08:50

Helena Kennedy has just been on breakfast news saying loud and clear that in the vast majority of cases sexual history will not be admitted and women should come forward. She plainly also thinks the court of appeal got it wrong, which makes me happy as I thought the same, and it's always nice to have ones opinion confirmed by someone knowledgeable! If it's on iplayer, worth a watch.

Middleoftheroad · 16/10/2016 11:46

Thanks for that. Will take a look as this was playing on my mind this morning.

MyGiddyUncle · 16/10/2016 12:14

YABU.

As far as she is concerned, her oh cheated on her.

There have been plenty of mnetters who've found out their oh has cheated and decided to give them a second chance. She's no different.

If it was dh and I truly believed he was being accused when he was not guilty then i'd back him in every single way I could.

TheoriginalLEM · 16/10/2016 16:56

of course she is different. Her dp RAPED someone while it was filmed. This woman will have been traumatised and only to be madeworse by the trial.

You would really defend your dh if he were a rapist?

Squirmy65ghyg · 16/10/2016 17:06

Did anyone read the Sunday Times interview today?

It was very disconcerting.

Chippednailvarnishing · 16/10/2016 17:13

I felt physically ill when I saw the photo of the two of them playing happy families with the dogs.

I bet he treats the dogs better than he treated the poor victim.

Were they paid for the interview?

Totallymyownperson · 04/11/2016 22:06

Didn't know they had dogs I hope that dog bites him in the balls
