Name changed just incase.. Long term poster.

We've made the rookie error of finding a house we love in the village we've been planning to relocate to.

Cottage in Cornwall has been on the market for a week - not a sausage.

It's priced well (189K), 3 bed, lovely views, 10 mins drive from sea, peaceful village, no-through road, brand new woodburner.

I can't see why no interest.. Am I expecting too much in 7 days?

Wow - thank you all so much for the really helpful responses! I've made changes where I can, and I'm uploading new pics to the agent tonight, as well as a freshly written description.

It's great to have some fresh eyes to look at things. I won't panic yet - especially as the house in our preferred location won't actually be available until the spring, I've discovered - fingers crossed.

We're pretty happy here anyway just now - especially with the fire on the go :)

Just an update on this - after all of your helpful advice I re-did our pictures on our listing and changed our 'main' picture to an internal shot, as I think terraces can be overlooked when you're swiping through.

I also emailed the agent to ask why they think there's been no interest. They said "see what the weekend brings" and upgraded us to 'premium' listing on the portals - free of charge.

Meantime I'd booked an appointment for a local agent to come over and give us some info on their packages and whether she thought a more proactive approach from a team with local lists of buyers would help. Of course she thought so too and quoted a fee of 1.5% of asking price + VAT. She thought our price was very slightly high but not outrageously so. I said we'd think about it.

Oh - the agent sign arrived too and I popped it in the window as wasn't sure how to attach it to the house..

Then our online agent got us two viewings in two days, and the second lot made an offer which we've accepted! It'd been on the market 20 days.

Super happy with you helpful lot and with the online estate agent who saved us over £3,000 in fees and has also been really helpful in understanding and dealing with an awkward situation with a particular local solicitor.

fingers crossed for a smooth sale then we can be ready for the new place from the spring. Thanks again all Grin

Great news OP! Good luck with the news.

I can't see any mention of parking. My experience of estate agent details is to assume nothing, if it isn't specifically mentioned it usually means it doesn't exist.

Thanks Crazeecurlee Smile

And to ItsJustNotRight - see my update above. We've accepted an offer. I wrote the description myself and there's no mention of parking as it has none, other than on-street. Which is obvious from the photo Smile
