As per the subject. Aibu to be angry that my ds was outside in only a t-shirt and jogging bottoms on pick up?

How old? Was he cold?

mrsblackcat · 11/10/2016 17:26

It's been really very cold today and I think that's very remiss of them.

blueskyinmarch · 11/10/2016 17:27

You need to give us more to go on here OP. What age is your DS? What is the weather like where you are? Had he been playing out and running about and had become warm? Had he popped out for a few minutes and they hadn’t got round to getting his coat on? Did he appear cold? Was he asking for his coat? Some children just don’t feel the cold and he is unlikely to come to any harm.

Ladyrainacorn · 11/10/2016 17:28

He's 4

Ausernotanumber · 11/10/2016 17:28

My DD never feels the cold. Maybe he's the same.

insancerre · 11/10/2016 17:28

How old?
Is he not capable of putting a coat on?

melibu84 · 11/10/2016 17:28

It has been a bit nippy today. I was wearing jacket when I went out today, and I wished for another layer!

An adult should have made sure he was dressed appropriately imo

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 11/10/2016 17:28

At four surely he can put on his coat if hes cold, hes not a baby

Ladyrainacorn · 11/10/2016 17:29

Sorry! It was quite chilly but mild, I am wearing a thick cardigan

blueskyinmarch · 11/10/2016 17:29

At ag 4 he will be more than capable of going to ask for his coat if he is cold surely? Perhaps he had it on earlier and took it off himself?

Mishegoss · 11/10/2016 17:29

Wouldn't bother me. My son is four and has always been funny about coats. I take it with us so he has the option. He's never let himself freeze.

dementedpixie · 11/10/2016 17:29

Did he seem cold or bothered about it?

cookielove · 11/10/2016 17:29

A lot of nurseries are encouraged to let that children that age decide whether they need a coat or not! Could it be that is what has happened here?

JennyOnAPlate · 11/10/2016 17:29

Did he tell them he was cold?

Ladyrainacorn · 11/10/2016 17:30

Thanks all I thought I was probably being a bit overprotective so didn't make a fuss

OP posts:
blueskyinmarch · 11/10/2016 17:30

Chilly and mild are very different. Which was it? Possibly you were feeling colder because you were not being as active as he was?

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 11/10/2016 17:31

Is he not capable of putting a coat on?

That's nasty and uncalled for.

My dd (3) wouldn't put her coat on either unless told to.

Do you think they could have asked him and he wouldn't?

Martha75 · 11/10/2016 17:33

4 year olds never seem to feel the cold.
They're always stripping off and have to be persuaded to wear a coat (the ones in our family anyway).

Sirzy · 11/10/2016 17:33

At 4 though I am guessing he is running around much more than you were so will have been warmer anyway?

Unless he seemed cold I wouldn't worry too much

Ladyrainacorn · 11/10/2016 17:35

Thank you

"Is he not capable of putting a coat on?

No, it was a genuine question

Witchend · 11/10/2016 17:45

Ds came out of school in short sleeved shirt and shorts. He proceeded to undo his shirt because he was hot.

DS would have physically fought them off if they tried! Still does at 10 :-)
