I'm just watching this now. It's very interesting but this journalist is just awful. He is clearly relishing the whole thing like it is some kind of fun murder mystery party. Horrific.

Despicable, soulless and had the cheek to talk about morals and ethics - something he clearly knows nothing about. I get he has a job to do but he could have done it with a bit of compassion and humanity. Great documentary though - he was just unnecessary and added nothing to it. Although his horrendous attitude did highlight how much the press can influence the outcome of such trials.

Oh God yes. I had my back to the screen when he started talking and knew straight away he was a tabloid journalist.

The thing that makes me sick about the whole thing is the poor victim was forgotten early on by pretty much everyone except her poor family.

He is undoubtedly utterly vile. I wouldn't really expect someone who writes for the Fail to be anything but.

However - I do think the documentary makers really played up the caricatures - the immoral journo, the incompetent, arrogant prosecutor...

I saw this appear on Netflix new releases and was going to watch it tonight. Glad I didn't; think it'd've given me the rage.

I read so much on mn at the time and followed too many links, the documentary didn't scratch the surface.

But from everything I have read about this case I have always thought Amanda Knox was guilty.

Interesting documentary. It did leave out a few things though that I thought were part of the case against Amanda Knox.
I ended up thinking that she is/was quite strange, possibly with a personality disorder, possibly that although she didn't kill Meredith she enabled the break in [Guede knew her name], or that she was there shortly after the murder, panicked and ran away.
Her reaction to Merediths murder eg the mobile phone chat with her friend to me came across very inappropriate, she also seemed quite emotionless about Meredith and the combination of those things for many people made her look guilty.
In the documentary Amanda seemed to imply that people at home thought she was odd, and I suspect that's the truth.

The case against him has always been that he did not act alone. Sometimes the influence of another changes things.

I don't doubt that she's odd. But being odd doesn't make one a murderer.

I think including him in the documentary was important because it showed how vile tabloids are and how much they influenced the case.

It takes a special kind of arsehole to be a tabloid journalist.

I watched this at the weekend and thought exactly the same, what a horrible man. At one point he did this ridiculous half eye closed pout which made me laugh though.

Not sure about Amanda Knox being guilty, she did come across as odd and as a pp said the phone call to her friend was really inappropriate. I was surprised to hear that her relationship with Raffael was only 5 days! By the way they were talking it sounded like it was longer.

I can't remember all the details I read (I read far too much on here then follow links then links from the links until I zzz) however I do remember reading an awful lot about the phones, the times of the calls as recorded by the phone satellites - vaguely remember reading something about call or text from Knox phone which used satellite close to her home rather than Rafael's home. Which contradicted her story of being there all night. Also when she phoned Meredith after her shower she only let it ring once? There was a lot of info but at the time I read it I believed Knox was involved more. Also something about a lamp from Knox room found in merediths room.
Mostly I have always felt sad for the lovely 22 year old woman who somehow got lost in her own murder enquiry

Think the documentary makers were delighted that he came across as such a horrid man. Served the angle perfectly.

The vile journo and arrogant cop get to be the bad guys of the piece leaving your sympathy to go to Knox.
Read more about the case and I doubt you'd think she was innocent at all. Watch this documentary and you're convinced, not only of her innocence, but of a total stich up by the police and the media.

I also watched this OP and thought he was utter garbage so yanbu, and a horrendous excuse for a journalist and in general a sorry excuse for a human being.

The absolute worst bit was him positively revelling in Amanda's being given a misdiagnosis of HIV which at that time (16 years ago) was pretty much still universally thought of as a death sentence.

All he could think of was his own gain. I considered journalism once, and losing my soul like Nick Pisa was the reason I didn't do it. How dare he even put himself in the same league as Woodward/Bernstein. Muckraker.

I went into the documentary believing her guilty, I would not say that I now believe her innocent, but I'm no longer 100% sure of her guilt either.

If anything has prevented the truth being found either way it is the behaviour of the police and media, because once they did the things they did she had no hope of a fair trial

So I watched it tonight.
Obviously Pisa is a disgusting pig and probably deals with a lot of soul selling pigs like himself so he doesn't care.
The film itself was ok. Didn't really say anything different and I still feel Amanda's role in the whole thing is much much more than she lets on.
The trial was definitely made into a circus by the media. But also the Italian police didn't follow protocol and the lawyers of the defendants used that to their advantage.
Meredith's family just amaze me. Not a single time you see these people in the media. Other than a few comments about their daughters killer being brought to justice. They always kept themselves dignified.

Poor, poor Meredith Kercher. Totally forgotten because of media obsession with a supposedly attractive Yank who uses sex toys. I refuse to watch it.

At one point he was actually incredulous that there was some sort of expectation that he should check the accuracy of what he was about to print lest he be beaten to the scoop. 'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story' was never more apt.
