I'm just watching this now. It's very interesting but this journalist is just awful. He is clearly relishing the whole thing like it is some kind of fun murder mystery party. Horrific.

I agree pisa was and is vile, and the documentary was not balanced, but I think fair enough. The police dude was worse than pisa, he just filled in blanks with whatever suited his theory. The case was dominated and contaminated by levels of misogyny I have never seen the like of. Really similar to the joanne falconnio case, oh shes a bit odd, oh she isnt reacting as she should, she must have done it. But no, there was a lunatic on the lose who killed her husband.
The case has been such a shambles that I dont think it is possible to make a fair assessment of what happened, particularly not when the media reporting has been so biased.
And through all of this a family who brutally lost a daughter and sister are faded out, their pain airbrushed out just to give us a femme fatale.

He is culpable for the widespread condemnation of Knox on no evidence, when he said that about needing to get a story out and it wasn't his job to check facts! Utterly shocking vile excuse for a human. The police inspector was no better he was just a gloryhound. I think Knox is was a silly selfish slightly stupid girl who lacks empathy but there is no evidence that she is a killer.

You couldn't make him up. 'Only a woman would put a blanket over the body' said with total certainty. Frightening.

This. The possibility of getting to the truth via careful investigation and collection of evidence was derailed by speculation and titillation by police and media early on.

I couldn't bear the way it was being presented like salacious gossip rather than the murder of a young woman. And the incessant shots of the bloodstained room - was that really necessary? I just kept thinking about her poor family when I started watching it - Nick Pisa is truly truly vile. How can he live with himself? His evident enjoyment and glee made me feel sick.
From what I saw it all seemed like an utter shambles. The policeman was appalling as well, the way he announced his conclusions...it beggars belief.

Not read all the comments but I couldn't believe how crass he was. It was my dream to be a journalist when I was younger but there's no way I would've wanted to be like him. He seems to have no morals and came across very badly indeed.

I was convinced Knox had done it and talked Sollecito into helping until I watched this. That police detective should be made accountable.

Karen and Georgia at the My Favourite Murder podcast discussed this ridiculous excuse for a documentary and all the media associated with case.

They (quite rightly) pointed out the the outrageous thing is that it's become "the Amanda Knox show".

It's all about her, it's referred to as the Amanda Knox case when it should always be about Meredith.

Unicorn1981 · 13/11/2016 00:50

That's true but she did go to prison for four years. But why hasn't she sued them or something? That makes me wonder. I didn't like it when she was celebrating on the phone with Sollecito at the end.

JustSpeakSense · 13/11/2016 07:59

I thought the same thing! He's slime!

Interesting facts left out of the documentary: the 'emergency call' Amanda a Raphael made alerting police if possible foul play only happened after local police had already arrived and were looking around the house (with the phone they had found in a nearby garden)

Also...

When police were looking through property initially, Amanda stated that although Merediths door was locked, this was common she locked it all the time. (However in documentary she said they had already tried to break door down before police arrived as they were concerned)

Italian roommate arrived and insisted to police door was never locked, it was due to her distress and panic about door that they immediately broke door down.
