They're at it again (see previous 1000000 posts) or quick reminder I have 5 month old twins and my neighbours think they own our road and are getting sweet revenge on me for legally parking on the unrestricted public highway --which they think they own.

Are there any restrictive covenants on the deeds to preclude parking of commercial vehicles?

MaddyHatter · 30/09/2016 20:43

you could always tell us your area, then if anyone is near by, they can pm you if you really do want a protest park-in ;)

AuditAngel · 30/09/2016 20:43

I know this isn't the commercial vehicle, but fight fire with fire.

I would also call 101 and take pictures every single time they do it.

WindInThePussyWillows · 30/09/2016 20:44

England Grin
BearBehind I won't post business or address details really but my god I want to Angry and yes they are parked on the pavement between my drive and the road!

Bearbehind · 30/09/2016 20:44

If a car can park behind her there's no reason why she couldn't park with the rear wheels where the neighbour's car is in that photo tired

The neighbour's car is on the pavement anyway.

BlueFolly · 30/09/2016 20:46

What a twat!

I know, but then it'll look like OP is obstructing the pavement, even though the neighbour is doing a bloody good job of that already.

CotswoldStrife · 30/09/2016 20:48

Ugh, this is horrible. Why do people think they own the road, he is equally horrible to everyone and not just the OP by the sound of it.

I would check your local Council's website for their policy on parking over drop downs - I know from checking ours that they don't automatically take action but this isn't the case for all by any means. And there is the fact that he is blocking you in. I would speak to the Police about it and ask them what you can do in the future.

The other possibility - which I would use as a last resort - is some kind of letter from a lawyer, as you have to declare neighbourhood problems when you sell a house so it would cause problems for the prat (but also your landlord). Have you spoken to your Landlord about this as well? They may not want to get involved but it might be worth a try.

Frustrating though it is, by your current numbers it is only happening once or twice a month (still too many) so although any counter-parking by you may cause it to happen more frequently, it may ease off again. Speak to the Council and the Police, think about speaking to your landlord and/or letting agent, formulate your plan of action for when it happens again and carry it out.

PaulDacreCuntyMcCuntFace · 30/09/2016 20:49

Let us know your county and then people can PM you. I've had wine so can't drive tonight, otherwise I'd quite happily drive over (assuming you live near me) and park a hair's breadth off his bumper, so all you'd need to do is reverse your car down on to the pavement to block him in. I don't need my car again until Monday morning Grin

Myredrose · 30/09/2016 20:50

Come on any lurking daily mail journos, this is the one time you are needed to publicise this.

Emus · 30/09/2016 20:50

I would call the police every time and tell them you feel harassed and vulnerable, and that you have five month old twins and their behaviour is making it hard for you to do things for them. What a bunch of bullying bastards. For you OP CakeWineFlowers

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 30/09/2016 20:55

Give us a rough idea of where you're and MN spidey senses will track down the road (and every road that's looks the same) and just leave our cars there everyday..!

Or sprinkle bird seed on their car roof!
The fuckers. I'm really annoyed for I. I hope a seagull smashes the shit out of their windscreen

2kids2dogsnosense · 30/09/2016 20:55

Myredrose - You're right. It's typical - when you want the buggers they aren't there.

But it made me wonder - does your local paper have a "Justice" or anything column where the paper takes on Twats who are making life difficult for people by their behaviour? A bit of local bad publicity in the area where he wants business might sort him. What type of business is he in?

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 30/09/2016 20:57

I'm on mat leave and rarely use my car. You can park it close to their car for a small long as you like. It would actually help me if they dented/scratched it anyway due to some serious shocking parking dents Blush

travellinglighter · 30/09/2016 20:57

Post his email address and we'll all email him, nothing abusive just, it's not your parking space, stop harassing your neighbors.

MaddyHatter · 30/09/2016 20:59

There is a FB page called "you park like a cunt" or something.

Take pictures from anywhere other than your drive, then post them on there, especially with his van in the picture.

inlectorecumbit · 30/09/2016 20:59

can you take a photo that just happens to include his van with the details on the side.........................................................by accident of course

GDarling · 30/09/2016 20:59

Tell your landlord that until he sorts out the parking, you want cheaper rent as u can't park yr car securely or push yr pushchair as the cars are on the pavement, actually that's one for a parking warden type person..... No???

Tiredmumno1 · 30/09/2016 21:01

Oh yes, maybe you could take a photo from the pavement and post it anonymously to your local fb spotted page.

GabsAlot · 30/09/2016 21:02

really op do phone the police every time so they know it not an emergency or a one off theyre permanently blocking u in and u have babies

Waffles80 · 30/09/2016 21:06

What happens if you go to his front door and tell him to move?

WindInThePussyWillows · 30/09/2016 21:11

I've been trying not to involve the landlord too much as our term is nearly up and we really want to renew. The house and area is perfect - despite living next to this lot Sad

I spoke to the council about H bars (not enforceable so I'm sure they'd continue to abuse the system) or extending the dropped kerb but even a H bar is £200 and a dropped kerb nearing £1,000 - we don't have the money Sad

If I ask him to move he will swear at me, then tell me it's his sons / wife's car and he hasn't got the keys or he's drunk too much to move it tonight Hmm

Completely unacceptable behaviour from your neighbours. Some good suggestions from other posters about what you can do. I'm so passed off for you. I would get full of rage and probably reverse hard in to their car, but that wouldn't help!
