To be sick and tired of people posting videos of children being beaten up

And animals tortured on FB?

It smacks of gratuitous attention seeking. The footage should be given to the police. Not stuck in my news feed where I see it whether I want to or not.

Who are you friends with on fb? I NEVER seen this kind of stuff and would instantly defriend anyone who posted it. Your problem is your friends.

BalthazarImpresario · 27/09/2016 20:58

I've seen two today, first time ever. My bil who is very pro kids being happy etc don't think he realises that having it shared isn't helping the victim.
I reported then both but they probably won't breach fb standards

cardibach · 27/09/2016 21:00

Never seen any videos like this. If I did, the sharers would be unfriendly/blocked immediately, though.

MissMoo22 · 27/09/2016 21:01

YANBU I hate this stuff too. It breaks my heart to see people bullying kids and for people to post that kids misery all over facebook is disgusting.

MrsJayy · 27/09/2016 21:03

I block report or defriend them not had children though i would report that to facebook right away. I have a vegan friend and im close to blocking their pictures

ayeokthen · 27/09/2016 21:03

Two people on my friends list shared videos/photos of kids being hit. I blocked them and reported the posts. It's fucking awful, I can't bear it!

MrsJayy · 27/09/2016 21:04

Yes sharing images of child abuse is exploiting the poor child and on and on it goes

redexpat · 27/09/2016 21:06

is exactly what I came onto this thread to say! I think I live in a parallel universe sometimes as I never understand the many complaints of facebook on MN.

Sciurus83 · 27/09/2016 21:08

OMG! You need new friends!

Soubriquet · 27/09/2016 21:12

I have had two appear on my feed too

About kids beating other kids up and recording it?

I haven't clicked to watch but I've seen the angry statuses about them

bibbitybobbityyhat · 27/09/2016 21:13

I never see this either. I think the people I am friends with have enough basic intelligence to know not to share this stuff. If they didn't, I would simply block or unfriend.

Have you said what you said in your OP to the friends who shared it? If not, then start there.

NonnoMum · 27/09/2016 21:14

IF you see it report it immediately.
And lose your friends.

CamdenTownie · 27/09/2016 21:30

Today I saw a video of a teenage boy being attacked by a group of others, it was awful, and I just can't stop thinking about that poor boy, I can't believe that adults are posting this stuff on Facebook.

PeanutButterLips · 28/09/2016 00:50

There is one going viral atm, a girl being beaten by another girl and a male recording.
It's sickening and scary I couldn't imagine it to be my child.
I've had a handful of FB friends sharing it. To be honest it's not what I want to see but that's FB for you.
These things happen all the time and get shared and shared until most people have seen them it is hard to not spot them on social media.
Even if you unfriend these people a whole host of others will share the next one
Best thing to do is delete FB as these videos never stay hidden for long

Loraline · 28/09/2016 03:39

Even if you have awful friends sharing this stuff, why are you clicking on it to watch it. All the posters above complaining about how awful the video was, why watch it?

Lottielou272 · 28/09/2016 06:42

I don't click it Loraline! It's on my news feed playing without me having to click on it. That's how Facebook is now.

Lottielou272 · 28/09/2016 06:47

Oh and wrt the people who share it - I have a friend who I've known since we were very little and its either her dad, her sister or her husband who post this stuff. They aren't in my social circles but I've known my friend for years. Last night it was her sister AND her husband posting it.

I posted a status on my page saying stop doing this it will not help - only going to the police will. I think my friend must have told them to then take it down. Or (I hope) it was removed by Facebook.

One of my close friends shares this kind of stuff. She's doing it because she thinks it will help find the attackers. She's into neighbourhood watch etc and shares lots of find this thieving person cctv as well. She's a lovely person who just hasn't thought it through.
I'm going to have to have a word.Sad

RunnyRattata · 28/09/2016 06:49

I don't watch it. O get the post off my newsfeed pdq

Champagneformyrealfriends · 28/09/2016 06:54

I saw an awful one yesterday of a teenage boy being beaten up by a group of boys - I only watched about 10 seconds and once I realised what it was I turned it off.

People think they're helping find the attackers but you only need to read the comments to see how harmful these videos are-certain sick bastards think they're funny.

FeckinCrutches · 28/09/2016 06:56

You cab change the settings so videos don't automatically play.

Lottielou272 · 28/09/2016 06:57

At one time you could choose to watch videos people posted or not. Now it just plays as you're scrolling down. I don't see how it will help identify their attackers - what it does do is make them feel smug that their crime has gone viral.

OP posts:
Lottielou272 · 28/09/2016 06:58

Oh thank you Feckin - how do you do that please?

OP posts:
DubiousCredentials · 28/09/2016 07:00

Videos don't play automatically on the mobile site. They don't on my phone anyway.

Lottielou272 · 28/09/2016 07:01

They do on mine - have done for about a year iirc
