to ask if you would vote for Corbyn and what area of the country you are in?

Just curious as to whether Corbyn's re-election means his popularity is better than the polls suggest and also if there is a divide in the geographical location of his supporters.

So, would you vote for Corbyn if there was a GE tomorrow and what part of the country are you in?

Me: I would vote for him. I am in London.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 27/09/2016 17:35

Yes but live in a very safe Tory seat so my vote for Labour is pointless. I still vote mind.

mummymeister · 27/09/2016 17:37

mini - where did I say what I would or would not be voting at the next GE?

I have already said up thread, that I hope that some labour MP's grow have the guts to break away and start up a proper labour party where people are actually consulted, their views taken into account, they are listened to, not patronised.

have you worked with JC- ever?

don't patronise me and tell me that my principles aren't deeply held or meaningful. how meaningful is it to threaten to de-select someone just because they have the audacity to disagree with you. how principled is it to shout down an elected MP because they are Jewish?

Labour is in danger of becoming a nasty bullying party. someone should give you a copy of animal farm to read mini and also show you a few news reels from the 1970's and early 80's.

I cannot vote for someone that I know from first hand experience is a misogynistic bully. that's called a principle.

It does seem very typical of the Current Labour thought process that anyone who disagrees with them are rabid foaming Tories with no principles. Corbyn and the people who he surrounds himself with are a disaster for the party!
He has no idea about how people in the traditional Labour heartlands actually live or get by day to day. Put him in the centre of Rochdale at 9am on a Monday morning and he'd have an attack of the vapours!
His cronies are more interested in making things difficult for his enemies - real and perceived than working out actual solid ways to make life better for anyone who has suffered under the Tories and he is doing nothing to stop them - or at least he's not being seen to stop them.
Don't tell me I have no principles Mini, the Tories aren't my ideal government at all but they at least are capable of organising themselves into a functioning political party, something that Labour seem unable or unwilling to do.

morningtoncrescent62 · 27/09/2016 17:39

Struggling here. I'd like to vote Labour because I want to see a left-wing government - and yes, I'm old enough to remember the 70s. But I'm in Scotland and Scottish Labour are in a terrible state, led by the embarrasment that is Kezia Dugdale. Her interview on Sunday Politics Scotland after the vote was one of the most inept I've ever seen, and that's saying something. The Greens in Scotland are a more credible left alternative and I've voted for them in the last few elections. But number one priority is to get the Tories out, so if next election it looks like Labour under JC are in with a shout, then I'd probably vote for them.

BumbleNova · 27/09/2016 17:40

minifingerz

have you not seen any of the polls?? i would argue voting for corbyn is a vote for decades of tory government.

mathsmum314 · 27/09/2016 17:42

NHS net expenditure has increased from £75.822 billion in 2005/06 to £117.229 billion in 2015/16. Planned for 2016/17 is £118.829bn.

Now you might disagree about how that money is spent but you cant credibly claim anyone is trying to destroy the NHS. But you can sensibly ask serious questions about the impact of JC's economic policies and what who happen to the NHS if the economy suffered.

mummymeister · 27/09/2016 17:42

mornington - and if everyone does that he will get in and it will be a disaster. if you prefer the politics of the greens in your area then please stay true to that and vote for them. there will be loads of voters out there feeling like this and if all of you voted for the greens - or anyone else (I am not a green voter generally so no axe to grind on that score) then there would be a better alternative.

CrowyMcCrowFace · 27/09/2016 17:42

Am overseas, but yes, I would. I rather admire the bloke, with some reservations.

Having said that, I'd vote for my cat if she was the only alternative to Theresa May.

& wot minifingerz said.

mathsmum314 · 27/09/2016 17:43

what will happen

mummymeister · 27/09/2016 17:44

not sure how anyone can admire a bully but I guess it takes all sorts crowy.

FriskyFrog · 27/09/2016 17:47

If you claim to have principles which are left of centre and you deliberately vote in such a way as to assist a right wing Tory government to get in, then your professed left wing principles are not deeply held or meaningful.

What simplistic nonsense.

Sandsnake · 27/09/2016 17:47

Definitely not. South East. I'm quite a centrist really and Jez is too left wing for me. Also, I don't think he's competent enough by a long way and I think some of the people that he surrounds himself are quite unpleasant.

tristerflexu · 27/09/2016 17:47

TheWernethWife · 27/09/2016 17:48

Definitely yes, I'm north Manchester.

mathsmum314 · 27/09/2016 17:49

Anyone like JC's policy of banning fracking? And the irony of the first shipment of imported fracked shale gas from the other side of the world. Maybe if JC took advice from a proper shadow cabinet he wouldn't be seen as so incompetent.

allnewredfairy · 27/09/2016 17:51

Yes. West Midlands.

MrHannahSnell · 27/09/2016 17:53

No. South of England (won't matter, Labour always come 3rd here).

Prive120 · 27/09/2016 17:53

Home Counties and a labour member... But not happy with Corbyn and never have been.
As someone else said he's an activist not a leader.

It breaks my heart to not vote for my own party.

AllThePrettySeahorses · 27/09/2016 17:54

I'm in Liverpool, I'm a Labour member and no chance would I ever, ever vote Labour while Corbyn is leader. All the reasons above, plus I don't think it is anything like the Labour Party at the moment.

mummymeister · 27/09/2016 17:54

I don't think who is in the shadow cabinet would make one iota of difference to his competence.

he believes he is ALWAYS right and listens to no one. he pays lip service to consultation and doesn't let facts get in the way of his stance.

if all those saying that they would vote for him had worked with him then I know that they would be feeling as I do.

HoneyBunnySunny · 27/09/2016 17:54

North East. Not a hope in hell will I vote labour with that man in charge

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 27/09/2016 17:54

Never in a month of Sundays.

But that's irrelevant as I have never voted Labour.

NW

I find JC, and what is happening to the Labour party absolutely fascinating though.

coldcanary · 27/09/2016 17:56

It is fascinating isn't it? Depressing but fascinating to see what was once a proud political party turned into a personality cult.
