Just curious as to whether Corbyn's re-election means his popularity is better than the polls suggest and also if there is a divide in the geographical location of his supporters.

So, would you vote for Corbyn if there was a GE tomorrow and what part of the country are you in?

Me: I would vote for him. I am in London.

Yes. Hebden Bridge.

tangerino · 28/09/2016 22:06

Wayfarersonbaby, couldn't agree more, v well put.

FireSquirrel · 28/09/2016 22:09

Cotswolds. I would absolutely vote for him.

Statelychangers · 28/09/2016 22:25

No, will not vote Labour next election and have cancelled my party membership - he reminds me of the arses I use to know in the SWP.

Statelychangers · 28/09/2016 22:26

Sorry should have said No and South East.

blinkowl · 28/09/2016 22:31

Yes. South East England.

JeanLouise123 · 28/09/2016 22:34

Yes - Yorkshire

Costcoqueen · 28/09/2016 22:37

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap!

North East

HoneyBeeMum1 · 28/09/2016 22:45

Definitely not.

The Labour Party is considered toxic here in the Highlands, so they probably wouldn't get elected here anyway. With JC in charge they have no chance.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 28/09/2016 22:48

No way.

Middle of the country

Long standing Labour member. Not sure how much longer though. DH resigned membership Saturday as discussed my DBro.

Justanotherlurker · 28/09/2016 22:48

I find him very far from being "hard left

He may not be totally hard left within the horseshoe theory, but he is leaning hard left, hence his SWP, momentum support.

The support locally here NW is not baby boomers, more university grads who generally despise the true working class, I found abbots comments about brexit voters pretty funny actually, considering the true hard left (which Corbyn has been a contributor to The Morning Star) have always been anti Europe and advocated voting leave.

The party is a mess, I don't want an unrestricted Tory government but I cannot vote for Corbyn, I haven't been fooled by any 'right wing media', nor conspiracy , the party is being taken over by a group that thinks they have a Devine right to be the opposition party, and by supporters who are getting whipped up into a cult like status, it's like the greens, they can promise what they want as they know they will never get opportunity to put there policies in practice, labour under Corbyn is going that way.

The fact that they need to win over those 'vile', 'disgusting' UKIP and Tory voters to get into power is tough enough, that is disregarding the lifelong dyed in the wool supporters they are hemorrhaging, to me, is making politics even more partisan than it is already

Dilligaf81 · 28/09/2016 22:50

Yes and will be out promoting him and the party.
People saying he is a protester not a leader....Let's carry on with the same I stead then Hmm

Hampshire.

notangelinajolie · 28/09/2016 22:52

I've voted Labour all my life and always will. I live in Trafford/South Manchester and it's bluer than Manchester City round here. Sadly, there's not a hope in hell chance of Labour ever getting in round here

user1471439240 · 28/09/2016 22:54

It is hard to muster up support for a latter day Wolfie from Citizen Smith.
North, ex heavy industry area, reduced to nail bars, kebab shops and hand car washes.
Never again.

Cherryskypie · 28/09/2016 23:08

No, South-East. I've cancelled my party membership.

NNChangeAgain · 28/09/2016 23:13

It strikes me as incredibly lazy for citizens to say "well, I don't agree with Tory policy, so I'll vote Labour despite the poor quality of the leadership/policies/candidates."

Your vote is valuable. You should expect a party to earn it. Not issue it to the "least worst" option. Spoil your ballot, let the parties know that the electorate is dissatisfied and they will be motivated to do better.

All the while people support a weak Labour Parliamentary challenge by default, the party has no motivation to improve the parliamentary leadership/representation it has.

ChunkyMcBitch · 28/09/2016 23:15

Yes, absolutely yes. I voted Tory in 2010 and regretted it ever since but didn't feel there was a viable opposition at the time. Now we do.

North Wales. About to join the party mainly due to JC

Cathaka15 · 28/09/2016 23:21

I'm surprised at myself for saying yes. But Yes! Richmond upon Thames.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 28/09/2016 23:25

Edinburgh No. No way.

Labour party member. Have voted Labour in every general election since the first one I was allowed to vote in 1979 and will not be voting Labour whilst he is leader.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 28/09/2016 23:30

Just listening to his speech

All this investment sounds absolutely wonderful

But where does the money come from Hmm

Sadiq Khan could hardly hide his disdain when Corbyn congratulated him in his speech Grin

Gran22 · 28/09/2016 23:33

No. Even though I live in South Yorkshire where in almost every seat Labour is a shoe in regardless of the candidate.

MeadowHay · 28/09/2016 23:36

Yes, east midlands. Not a Labour party member but Corbyn and co are making me seriously consider it - and this is for the policies, not for the individuals involved. I care about policies. If I'm going to vote it's going to be for the policies that I believe in, for the policies that I think will make the country a better place. I have been a Green voter previously although I live in a safe Labour seat otherwise would have voted Labour if it was a marginal to keep the Tories out. DH is the same as me.

My parents and siblings live in the North West and they are all going to vote Labour. My dad and sister are Labour affiliated members and voted for JC in the leadership election both times round. My parents were Labour voters for ages, then switched to Lib Dems, then switched back to Labour after the Lib Dems committed political suicide by getting in bed with the Tories.

My immediate extended family (if that makes sense!) live in the north east and are all life-long Labour voters and will vote Labour again. DH's immediate extended family are all in the north west and lifetime Labour voters and will vote Labour again.

stonecircle · 28/09/2016 23:37

Exactly enthusiasm. Anybody can say let's hike up the minimum wage, build loads more council houses etc etc but it's just rhetoric. Where is the economic policy?

Have lived in various parts of the country; currently south east. Have always voted Labour. I would NOT vote for that lunatic. And am also about to cancel my Labour Party membership.

NNChangeAgain · 28/09/2016 23:42

enthusiasm After about half an hour, I realised that it reminded me of listening to a particularly imaginative role-playing child.

"When I am king of the world I'm going to make it law that everyone has to eat chocolate for breakfast"

"When I'm Prime Minister, everyone will have a giant slide from their bedroom window into their garden"

It's simplistic fantasy, not thought though policy.

I do wonder if he's delegating policy development to "The Party" because he doesn't really have the skill to create something himself (or with the PLP) that stands up to scrutiny.
