No, not always. Our binmen pull out any big bin bags but if there are little. bags of poo at the bottom (and they often get a bit stuck, ugh) they won't reach in and fish them out.

So I find these little bags of poo left even straight after the binmen have been. So I have to fish them out of the bottom of the dustbin, put them into my own binbag and put out again.

Please don't assume that if it's in a bin the binmen will take it. They take the big tied up bags but won't take random little bits which aren't in a big bag.

Disgusting. What a cheek. The minority of dog owners who use other people's bins, tie the dog poo bag on a tree, walk their dogs on recreation fields, or the worst ones for me the ones who jog or cycle totally 'oblivious' to their dog shitting behind them and not clearing up. Those people let down all dog owners.

People used to do this where we used to live. Wouldn't have bothered me so much except that the rubbish collectors wouldn't then take the bin! You'd either be left with a full, uncollected bin, or if they were feeling nice they'd just dump the bags of shit on our path an leave them there.

So those saying what does it matter... Well it bloody does matter when I've got to collect up a batch of stinking bags of shit and put them in a bigger bag so they're collected. Just take them home!

Oh and if I ever find out who left their bags on the top of the fucking bin lids well, I would enjoy speaking to them.

Our neighbours had it happen to them so they put a sign on their bin that said 'to the person who's putting their dog shit in my bin can you tell me where you live so I can come and dump all our dirty nappies in yours?'

Yanbu . This happened to me once. The bin stank for a week until the next collection. Then I had the joyous task of hosing it out to get rid of the smell.

Unless you regularly put bagged nappies/incontinence products in your bin, it probably doesn't smell of crap though. Yes, I'd rather it wasn't on the pavement, but if people choose to own a dog, then they are responsible for the disposal of their dog's crap.

Surely if a sample of dog poo was DNA sampled, the results would tell you that the offender is a cow-sized chicken/sheep hybrid?

If people want a dog they clear up after it and use either a dog poo bin or take the bag home with them.

If they don't want to do that, well don't get a dog.

Isn't dog poo supposed to be double bagged before it goes in the dustbin? Bin men would be entitled to refuse to empty the bin if they spy poo bags loose in it.

Around here, we pay by weight for our bins, as well as a charge per lift.

So many, many people only tend to put their bins out when they are actually full rather than every fortnight.

In our case, it's more like every 6-8 weeks.

So I would be paying for someone else's waste, and also paying extra lift charges for taking the bin early (as I couldn't have the smell for weeks on end).

Well, bins here are emptied weekly (the general waste bins, which are smaller than the recycling ones). I wouldn't want dog poo sitting round longer than that!

Our bin collections are about to go fortnightly. Nor will our rubbish collectors take anything other than rubbish in black bin bags.

The only time you could get to my bin would be when it was out on bin day - so you lobbing a little bag of poo on top of my bin liner would mean my bin wasn't collected.

You can get bin lid locks. Seems to be the easiest solution.

I caught a neighbour doing this. She walked through my gate and up my path to do it.

I was opposite on the open grass playing with the dog.

I made her come and take it out.

Except The recycling bin won't be collected with the dog shit it. So the op has to sort it out.

I don't even put my own dog shit bags into the bin until the night before collection because it bloody stinks
