Here we go again. Had a few issues with neighbours (2 previous posts) starting during my twin pregnancy when I parked legally outside their house, then when their son dumped an untaxed vehicle outside our house.. Bla bla

Just went to take babies to a hospital appointment and they've parked OVER my driveway. Not answering their door even though they are all home. Fuck off.

WIBU to pour paint stripper over it Grin
(Joking!)

My car is the white one, and the space to the right is also my driveway.
Their cars are the grey one which is parked on the road space (hanging way over the dropped kerb) and the 4x4.

I'm already parked as far over as I can (DH car normally parked on other space) without ruining my grass.

Fuckers.

Their work van has their telephone and email address on it. Maybe if I took a well placed photo you lovely folk could tell him for me GrinGrin

I would call your local police/101 and tell them you have to get your babies to hospital and some idiots are blocking you in your own drive. Don't drive on your grass, you're right - it's the principle.

WindInThePussyWillows · 23/09/2016 10:19

No they own it Angry
We are having the twins christened on Sunday and have very elderly family staying, so was hoping to move my car on the road later to allow the driveway for them to use - but I think it's going to start WW3.

I only know this because there have been absolute riots in my street because of blocking driveways (neighbours down the road). It's illegal to block someone IN to a driveway, so the offending vehicle can be moved by the police. Unfortunately it's not illegal to block entry to an empty driveway, just a really shitty thing to do.

schbittery · 23/09/2016 10:22

yes put their details on here and they'll get some spam ..

ayeokthen · 23/09/2016 10:22

Ooh yes, MN to the rescue! They'll be so sick of us all spamming them they'll park a mile away in future Grin

schbittery · 23/09/2016 10:22

also phone your landlord and send him/her the photos

MoonfaceAndSilky · 23/09/2016 10:23

Ooooh yes, the fury of mn, he won't know what has hit him Grin

19lottie82 · 23/09/2016 10:25

I'd drive over their grass without a second thought.

TattyCat · 23/09/2016 10:25

God no, don't put his details on here. It will come back and bite you on the arse!! He'll know it's you... bound to, especially as it's a parking issue and he knows you want him to move the car.

Spoilsport, me Grin

Buunychops · 23/09/2016 10:26

As I understand it it is illegal to block someone in so the police could be called.

Personally if you know they're in I would have a very loud conversation with 'friend' about the situation and say that once you get off the call you're phoning the police having got advice from CAB or something, but then again I can be a passive aggressive cow Grin

Or knock on thier door again and then shout in the letterbox that unless your car is unblocked in next 5 minutes the police will be called

Good Luck!

LagunaBubbles · 23/09/2016 10:28

Phone the Police. It is illegal as far as Im aware to block someone in on their driveway.

WindInThePussyWillows · 23/09/2016 10:29

I'm going to the appointment now (will drive over my grass)

I wouldn't really post their personal details (as much as I would love to) I wish I was Billy Big Bollocks enough to fuck them over.

If it's there on my return i shall call in the fuzz Wink

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 23/09/2016 10:31

Are you on a new build estate? Ours stipulates no work vehicles to be parked overnight ( lowers the time or something) it's in the deeds I think

honeysucklejasmine · 23/09/2016 10:32

Phone the police. They'll at least get a bollocking, if not towed. Perhaps the police can also reiterate what "public highway" means.

honeysucklejasmine · 23/09/2016 10:33

Noooo Wind! Parking over an empty driveway isn't an offence! The police won't be able to do anything!

Youarenotprepared · 23/09/2016 10:33

That is really shitty. So they are basically harrassing you for parking legally on the road on odd occasions and then extracting some shitty revenge by blocking you in?

This is illegal btw so you can call and get them towed. If you've knocked and they are ignoring you then getting traffic police/community police involved is all you can do.

I would keep taking photos of any shitty parking they do and of any notes you get and how you were parked when you got them. Keep records as best you can and also log any response from them eg not answering door, refusing to move etc.

Then pass all that info onto PCSO and hopefully they can have words and start issuing tickets.

Lizaveta · 23/09/2016 10:34

I would take note of this and keep photo record then go to council to talk about anti social behavior.

ijustdontknowanymore · 23/09/2016 10:40

That is really awful OP! I really feel for you - what utterly antagonistic wankers!!!

SirChenjin · 23/09/2016 10:44

Bloody hell - that is bad Shock

Seriously - if you want to PM me their details I will happily bombard them with phone calls today (I could be call centres offering all sorts of wonderous products) - or I could pretend I have work for them. Anything - just name your poison!!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 10:44

Bloody hellfire that's outrageous OP.

WindInThePussyWillows · 23/09/2016 10:47

Don't worry I've spoken to nice neighbour the other side and she will move her car so I can get back into driveway later and make it so they are still blocking me in IYSWIM.
She has also had problems with them shouting at family/friends who have parked there on odd occasions.

I wish I had as much time as them to faff about moving cars for some sort of weird power trip all day Hmm

OP posts:
WittyPutDown · 23/09/2016 10:47

That's awful of them. The problem with getting mad with their behavior is that they might up the anti and make things even worse. If they are shit enough to write such rude notes and to ignore you when you are knocking at their door then they seriously don't give a shit about you.

I perhaps start parking in the spot outside your house but im not sure what else I'd do. Driving over the grass isn't the end of the world but perhaps you could clear it with you landlord.

Do you have a community police person(not sure what the proper name is) who could call around and speak to them.

I'm not sure I would feel comfortable calling the police about this.

blueskyinmarch · 23/09/2016 10:49

What a bunch of tossers they are. Who would block in anyone never mind a mum with twins.

dowhatnow · 23/09/2016 10:49

phoning the police now will have a lot more leverage than once you've managed to get out. Can you get a lift to the hospital?
